Dear Brookside Families,
Thank you to everyone who helped make our Bubble Run fundraiser and event such a huge success! We are so grateful to our students, families, staff, and community for their incredible support. A special thank-you to Morris Jenkins for bringing their Ice Cream Truck to treat our students and staff during the event. Our students had the best day celebrating together! Together, we raised an amazing $21,000 to support our school! 🎉 Congratulations to our 5th grade for being our top grade level, and to Mrs. Stempihar’s class for being our top classroom! We will announce all of our winners tomorrow at school and will begin awarding prizes tomorrow as well. We are so proud of everyone who participated and helped make this fundraiser a success! Thank you again for helping us make a difference for our school!
Our fifth-grade students will take an Interim Science assessment on Tuesday, and all 3rd–5th grade students will participate in the NC Check-In Reading assessment on Thursday. Please help your child prepare by ensuring they get a good night’s sleep before each assessment, arrive at school on time, and are encouraged to do their best. We know our students will work hard and show what they know!
This Tuesday, we will welcome the Ranlo Fire Department to visit our Kindergarten students and share the importance of Fire Safety.
Keep in mind that Parent Conference Day is quickly approaching and will be held on October 15th. Please be on the look out for conference day letters, and be sure to sign up for a time slot with your child’s teacher. Our PTO would like to share with you that there is a virtual PTO meeting this Thursday, October 8th at 5:00 pm. Please contact our PTO at [email protected] for information on how to join this meeting. PTO would also like to remind you that ring pops are available for students to purchase on Wednesdays mornings upon arrival for $1.00 each.
Be sure to mark your calendars and save the date… Our famous Brookfest Fall Festival is coming up on Tuesday, October 27th, from 6:00–8:00 p.m., and you won’t want to miss it! This year, we are excited to continue our partnership with Flint Groves Baptist Church to offer Trunk-or-Treating for our students and families. Our PTO will have fun fall games, and families will have the opportunity to pre-order tickets for Monster Mini Golf. We are most excited that Brookfest will offer hands-on science stations, where students and families can explore, experiment, and engage in fun, interactive science activities.
