The best “dia” of the year! We celebrated the last day of Hispanic Heritage Month today with our 4th Annual Hispanic Heritage Parade!

This year, we were honored to have Assistant Police Chief Nancy Brogdon, the first Latina police chief for the Gastonia Police, and Officer Alvaro Jaimes as our Grand Marshall’s of the parade.

We want to extend a huge thank you to Wow Supermarket in Gastonia and Don Pedro’s Mexican restaurant for their extremely generous donation of cultural treats for our staff and students that walked in the parade today.

We love our community! 💙

Good evening, this is Mr. Hubers the principal at Pleasant Ridge with a few important reminders for the coming week. All students in grades 3,4 and 5 will be taking their first NC Reading Check-in on Thursday, October 8th. It is important for all our students to be in school that day and on time. This check-in helps give our teachers valuable feedback on what our students know and how we can help them grow.

Also, picture day is this Friday, October 9th. Information was sent home with students. If you would like additional information about picture day, please contact the office.

From our PTO:
Boo Grams will be sold on October 12 through October 14th. More information will be sent home this week.
Kate's Skating Rink fundraiser is this Friday, October 9th from 5pm to 9pm. Coupons will be sent home this week. Our school will receive a percentage of all sales.
The Read a Thon is now complete! We raised over $8,000! Thank you so much to everyone who participated.
Finally the Fall Festival is Tuesday, October 27th from 5-7. Be on the look out for additional information.

I hope everyone has a wonderful evening and GO PANTHERS!

Good evening, this is Mr. Hubers the principal at Pleasant Ridge with some important reminders for the coming week. A reminder that school starts each morning at 8:00 and students are expected to be in class at that time. Parent's, please do your best to have students dropped off by 7:55. We start taking in students each morning at 7:20 and between 7:20 and 7:40 there is little to no line for student drop off.

Also, we encourage all our students each morning to follow our PBIS ROAR behavior expectations. ROAR stands for Respect others / Own our actions / Act safely / Ready to learn. Parent, please encourage your child to follow these important expectation each day and everywhere in our school.

📚 Annual Read-A-Thon continues to be underway! We have now reached our 2nd goal of raising $7,000! Let's keep the momentum going!
Register online! Every student who registers gets a FREE Fall Festival game ticket! If every student raises just $25, we could expand our playground by 16,000 square feet!

Next week we will be conducting bus meetings with all students. When families register for bus, they sign a bus agreement. Additionally, we will now require students to sign their own version of the bus contract to acknowledge safe behavior on our buses. Please continue to review these procedures with your students that ride the bus. Thank you! 🚌🚌🚌
