Good evening, this is Mr. Hubers the principal at Pleasant Ridge Elementary with some important reminders for the coming week. We had a great first full week of school this week! I met with all of our students on Thursday and Friday and went over our ROAR student expectations. ROAR stands for Respect Others / Own Your Actions / Act Safely / Ready To Learn. I challenged our students to exhibit behaviors each day that lived up to those expectations.

I want to remind everyone that our school day begins at 8am. Students may be dropped off between 7:20 and 8:00am. We have a lot of car riders to get through the line so we are very appreciative when students are prepared to exit the car when pulling up to the front of the school. Also, please make sure you are not pulling in the parking lot and walking your child across the drop off traffic in front of the school. This is not safe for students and it slows the car line down. Also a reminder that all vehicles entering the front of our school during drop off and pick up times should be making a right turn into the front entrance. Please follow our traffic pattern to keep everyone safe.

Good evening, this is Mr. Hubers the principal at Pleasant Ridge with a few important reminders for the coming week. A reminder that all kindergarten students will begin this Monday, August 17th. Parents, please know that with kindergarten starting, please plan for the morning drop off lines to be a little longer. Student may be dropped off at the front of the school between the times of 7:20 to 7:59. Parents, please do not pull in the parking lot across from the drop off lane and walk your child across the road. This is not safe for the child and it slows the car line down. We ask that parents do not walk their child in the building beginning tomorrow.

Also afternoon dismissal will take longer with the additional car riders. Parents, please make sure you have you car tag visible and when you enter the front entrance of the school in the afternoon for dismissal you will alternate car lines as directed by a staff member. This will help the dismissal process.

Parents, please make sure you have completed the Parent Information Packet that was sent home with your student last week and return the signed documents this week.

Finally, I am so proud of how well our students and staff did last week to get us off to a great start and I am looking forward to a great week! I hope everyone has a wonderful evening.

Good evening, this is Mr. Hubers the principal at Pleasant Ridge with some important reminders. We had a great first day of school! Our students and staff did a terrific job today, and we are looking forward to a great year! A reminder that our Kindergarten phase in days are today, tomorrow, and Friday. Kindergarten parents, please only bring your child to school on their phase in days. The Kindergarten phase in days begin at 8:30 in the cafeteria and pick up is at 12. All Kindergarten students will attend school beginning next Monday, August 17th.

Thank you for your patience with our bus routes and car line. We have some new drivers still learning routes, and new students who are learning our dismissal procedures. The bus times will get more consistent and the car rider line will become more efficient as we practice. Again, thank you for your patience.

Finally a reminder that we take students in each morning between 7:20 and 7:59. Students are expected to be in class by 8am ready to learn. Please do not park in our lower lot and walk across the drop off line as this is not safe for the student and it slows down the car line. Thank you for your help with this matter.

Good evening, this is Mr. Hubers the principal at Pleasant Ridge with some important reminders. We are excited to welcome our students back to school tomorrow, Wednesday, August 12th! A reminder that students can be dropped off between the times of 7:20 and 7:59. Our traffic pattern will follow the same flow as it did last year. All traffic should be making a right turn into the front of the school. This means that morning and afternoon traffic should not be taking a right onto Floyd Lane off Spencer Avenue. All traffic should enter the front of the school by taking a right turn off of Floyd Lane. For afternoon pickup once you enter the front of the school you will form 2 lines just as we did last year. There is also a graphic attached to your email and on our page that give detailed directions of how dismissal works. For morning drop off parents, please do not pull into the lower parking lot and have your child walk across the drop off line. This is dangerous for the student and it slows our car line down.

Parents, if you have transportation changes to make during the school year. Please use the Google Form that is linked to your email, posted on our website, and posted on our page. This will help ensure the transportation change is communicated with the teacher. Also we ask that all transportation changes be made before 11am each day.

For the first day of school we will have plenty of staff helping students find their class if they are in need of assistance. Parents we ask that you to not attempt to walk students to class the first day. We will have staff assisting students out of the cars and then helping them get to their classroom. Kindergarten parents, please make sure you follow the phase in day schedule that was communicated by your teacher. Kindergarten students should arrive at 8:15 on their assigned phase in day. The phase in day is the only day that kindergarten parents will walk your child into the building. Thank you for your help and cooperation on these operational procedures.

Parents, if your child needs a transportation change during the school year. Please complete this form and communicate with your child's teacher. This will help us ensure that the transportation change goes into effect for that day. All transportation changes need to be made before 11am.

Good evening, this is Mr. Hubers the principal at Pleasant Ridge with some important reminders for the coming week. Thank you to all the families who attended our Orientation nights last week! A reminder that ALL GTA students will have Orientation tomorrow, Monday, August 10th from 5-6:30. This is a drop in orientation. You will enter in the Multipurpose Room where you will see what homeroom your child is in, visit the classroom to get important information, then visit the foyer area to receive your car tag and receive information from our PTO.

A reminder that the first day of school is Wednesday, August 12th. We start taking students in each morning at 7:20 and students are expected to be in class ready to learn by 8am. A reminder to parents that we will follow the same procedures for dismissal. For new families there is a graphic on our website and page detailing how dismissal works at Pleasant Ridge.

If you have not registered for a bus and you know your child will be a bus rider, make sure you have completed the Google Form posted on our website and page.

Good evening, this is Mr. Hubers the principal at Pleasant Ridge with an important announcement for incoming Kindergarten students. On Monday, July 27th, we will begin conducting our Kindergarten Screeners. These brief, one-on-one assessments allow our kindergarten teachers to get to know each child and gather information about their current academic skills. The screener is not a test to study for and is simply an opportunity for us to learn more about your child.
Kindergarten Screener Schedule:
Monday, July 27 | 9:00–11:00 a.m. – Last Names A–M
Tuesday, July 28 | 9:00–11:00 a.m. – Last Names N–Z
Wednesday, July 29 | 9:00–11:00 a.m. – Make-Up Day
When you arrive, please report to the Multipurpose Room, where our staff will greet you. Each child will spend a short time (10 min) with a kindergarten teacher for the assessment while parents wait nearby.
The information gathered during the screener helps us thoughtfully create balanced classrooms and ensure that every child is placed in the best possible learning environment for a successful school year.
