Good Afternoon Jaguar Family!

This is your principal, Tammy Mims, reaching out to share important information for the week.

The first nine weeks grading period ends on Tuesday, October 13. Students, please be sure to work with your teachers to get any missed assignments submitted by the end of this week so your grade is a true reflection of your capabilities.

Thursday, October 15, we will dismiss school at 12:30 PM. Students will be able to grab a bag lunch as they exit the building.

Parent Conferences are scheduled for Thursday, October 15 starting at 1:30 PM until 7:00 PM. Please reach out to your child’s teachers if you need to schedule a specific time.

Our Counselors and a Gaston College representative will host a FAFSA Meeting on Thursday, October 15 at 5:00 PM. This is especially important for 12th grade students as you begin preparing your application for student financial aid for college.

Friday, October 16 is an Optional Teacher Workday and there is no school for students that day.

Also, Tuesday, October 20 is picture day for 9th, 10th, and 11th grade, and make up pictures for 12th grade students.

Ms. Gladney's Food and Nutrition students had an educational and fun trip to the Gastonia Farmers Market.

The Forestview Academy of Information Technology enjoyed an amazing trip to Gaston College. Students spent time in the Information Technology Department, touring their various departments, such as the emerging technologies, programming, and cybersecurity labs. Gaston College instructors facilitated student learning and engagement with hands-on activities in topics such as 3-D printing, pod-cast development, robotics, video game development, cyber crime investigations, cyber technical challenges, coding and computer programming. A HUGE thank you to Ms. Hinson, Ms. Jurs, and all of the incredible Gaston College IT staff that created this opportunity for the students. We can't wait to visit again!
