Leadership School Complete! ✈️🇺🇸

NC-031 recently attended the Air Force Leadership Academy at Converse University, where cadets completed an intense week of leadership development, discipline, and personal growth.

With days beginning at 0530 and ending as late as 2230, cadets faced leadership exercises, inspections, drill, competitions, academics, and daily evaluations—all while pushing themselves mentally and physically in the South Carolina heat.

They return home with a stronger understanding of leadership, teamwork, resilience, and confidence. We are incredibly proud of the way they represented NC-031 and Ashbrook AFJROTC.

Please join us in congratulating:

• Cadet 1st Lieutenant Sharone Graham – Cadet Cadre Leader of His Flight
• Cadet Technical Sergeant Adrian Cutshaw
• Cadet Staff Sergeant Jaxon Nelson
• Cadet 1st Lieutenant Mason Allgire
• Cadet 1st Lieutenant Kennedy Shipton
• Cadet Airman 1st Class Jabriaun “Harley” Anderson
• Cadet Staff Sergeant Zion Clark
• Cadet Lieutenant Colonel Abigail Slaughter

Congratulations, cadets! We are proud of your dedication and all you accomplished this week.

As I close this chapter after six incredible years as Head Cheer Coach at Ashbrook High School, I do so with immense gratitude and pride. Coaching at Ashbrook has been one of the greatest honors of my career. Together, we built more than a cheer program we built a culture of excellence, accountability, leadership, sisterhood, and pride.

Over the years, our program achieved milestones that will forever be part of Ashbrook Cheer history:

🏆 Led the program to its first State Championship in its first state appearance.

🥉 Established a tradition of excellence by earning Top 3 State finishes in every state competition appearance thereafter.

🎄 Guided the team to earn Best Cheer & Dance Team honors in the Gastonia Jaycees Christmas Parade every year we participated.

🌟 Helped create opportunities for student-athletes to reach new heights, including selections to:
• Varsity Spirit Spectacular at Walt Disney World
• Queen City Senior Bowl Cheerleading Team
• North Carolina All-Region Team

🤝 Organized a Unity Cheer initiative that brought together Ashbrook High School and Hunter Huss High School cheerleaders to promote sportsmanship, collaboration, and community.

🎓 Maintained a strong commitment to academics, with 92% of student-athletes earning the NCHSAA Triple A Scholar-Athlete Award during my tenure while mentoring an average of 24–27 cheerleaders each season.

💚 Most importantly, we developed young women into confident leaders, dedicated students, and outstanding representatives of Ashbrook High School.

The state titles, trophies, banners, awards, and recognition are accomplishments I will always cherish. However, the relationships built, the lives impacted, and the memories created will forever be my greatest achievement.
As I begin my next chapter in administration at Holbrook Middle School, Ashbrook Cheer will always hold a special place in my heart. The experiences, relationships, and accomplishments we shared over the past six years have helped shape the leader I am today.

THANK YOU, ASHBROOK.

This isn’t goodbye, it’s see you later.

Ashbrook High School 2026 Graduation

05/22/2026

Hello Ashbrook Seniors and Families,
Today is finally Graduation Day, and we are excited to welcome our Green Wave family as we celebrate the incredible accomplishments of the Class of 2026.
After closely monitoring the weather throughout the week and into today, we have made the difficult decision to move the graduation ceremony indoors to the Ashbrook auditorium. While we know this is not the outcome many of us had hoped for, our priority is ensuring a safe, comfortable, and memorable experience for our graduates and guests. No matter the location, tonight will still be a very special celebration of an outstanding senior class.
Each senior has been provided two (2) Rain Tickets for admission into the auditorium ceremony. Please note that all guests entering the auditorium must have a Rain Ticket.
In addition, an overflow viewing area will be available; however, seating is extremely limited and will be first-come, first-seated. Guests must have a green ticket to enter the overflow area.
We will also livestream the ceremony on the Ashbrook page so that family members and friends who are unable to attend in person can still celebrate this important milestone with us. While we understand that watching online is not quite the same as being in the room, we are grateful to have the opportunity to share this moment with our broader Green Wave community.
Doors will open to the public at 4:30 PM.
• Guests with Rain Tickets for the auditorium should enter through the side entrance near the student parking lot.
• Guests with overflow seating tickets should enter through the cafeteria entrance.
All entrances will be clearly marked and accessible from the student parking lot.
For the safety of all guests, everyone entering will go through metal detection screening. Please be reminded that there is a strict No Bag Policy in place. To help expedite entry, please do not bring posters, signs, open containers, food or beverages, to***co products, balloons, flowers, noise makers, umbrellas, or weapons of any kind. Umbrellas may be left outside the entrance doors if needed.
Please note that access to the auditorium will pause promptly at 5:55 PM and will not reopen until all graduates have entered and the processional has concluded. We strongly encourage all guests to arrive early and be seated by 5:30 PM.
Although the weather may have changed our plans, it cannot change the pride we feel for the Class of 2026. We look forward to celebrating this unforgettable milestone together and honoring our graduates in true Green Wave fashion.
Once a Green Wave, Always a Green Wave.

For 19 years, Mr. Gary Foltz faithfully presented the Most Inspirational Teacher Award — an honor made even more special because it is chosen by the students themselves. Students submit heartfelt writings about the teachers who have made the greatest impact on their lives, celebrating those who inspire, encourage, and believe in them every day. Teachers are only eligible to receive this honor once, making it an especially meaningful recognition. Along with the award, the recipient also receives a monetary gift.

After Mr. Foltz’s passing last summer, we are incredibly grateful that Mrs. Foltz, along with Logan and Lisa, chose to continue this beautiful tradition in his memory. Their generosity ensures Mr. Foltz’s legacy of honoring outstanding educators will continue to inspire future generations.

Congratulations to this year’s finalists:
✨ Kristen Bullock
✨ Paige Lane
✨ Meredith Patterson
✨ Clay Pearson
✨ Leeann Wiggins

And congratulations to this year’s Most Inspirational Teacher Award recipient… 🎉 Paige Lane! 🎉

We also proudly recognize previous recipients of this special award:
🏆 Jesse Birnstihl
🏆 Anna Guzauskas
🏆 Ashley Rimmer
🏆 Leslie Wyatt

Thank you to the Foltz family for continuing such a meaningful tradition and for helping celebrate the incredible teachers who change lives every single day.
