Warlick Academy

Warlick Academy Warlick Academy Alternative School Warlick Academy is a 6th-12th grade alternative school.

Our primary responsibility is to provide a positive quality program for building student academics, self-confidence, social, and behavioral growth opportunities that will maximize their potential. This responsibility is supported in our school’s vision statement, “Warlick Academy aspires to create a safe and nurturing learning environment that is tailored to meet the individual social, emotional,

and academic needs of each student.”

Today’s world demands students who think critically and make good decisions. We assist by developing long-lasting relationships with students and families, spending time communicating student needs, and finding resources to enhance day-to-day interactions with others. The students of Warlick Academy are provided with numerous opportunities to be successful and are challenged with demonstrating resilience as they learn and grow through our many tiers of interventions and support services.

Good evening Warlick Families,

This is Principal LeFevers calling with the weekly message. This week, we will be releasing information regarding testing results and school growth from last school year. Please keep an eye out for upcoming news and results. These will be posted on our school page and website!

All 7th and 12th grade families should have gotten a letter regarding required immunizations. Students who do not have the required immunizations by the noted date in September will be excluded from school. Please contact Nurse Wise if you have any questions.

A notification regarding a negative cafeteria balance was sent through the LINQ School Nutrition system in error. Please disregard the message. No action is required in response to that notification. We apologize for any confusion or inconvenience this may have caused.

As a reminder, In person students are expected to be at school Monday-Thursday from 8:30-2:30 and Friday from 8:30-12:30. Students who are approved by administration to be virtual must work 2 hours a day to be counted present. Guardians, virtual absences do still count towards truancy so make sure you are checking in with your student!

Guardians, we need your help. We are seeing an increase in students coming in out of dress code and bringing items such as phones, airpods, etc to school. Please be advised that if we do not have clothes that will fit your student, we will be calling for them to either have clothes brought to the school or for them to go home. Thank you in advance for ensuring students are prepared to have a good day. We also are collecting gently used sweats, tshirts, slides and Croc type shoes to refill our clothing closet!

Save the Date! Thursday, September 17 @ 6:00 PM we will be hosting a virtual parent night to discuss the mental health resources we have available for your student at Warlick. During this session, you will hear from our school social worker, Mrs. Lynch, and our school based therapist, Mrs. Ervin, as they discuss the design of our program and the benefits it can have for your student. We hope all families will take time to log in. Thank you again for your support and for another great week at Warlick Academy!

Good evening Warlick Families,

This is Ms. LeFevers with an important summer update message. This week, each student should receive a letter from us in the mail. This letter contains important information about our virtual orientation, staggered entry days, and bus information.

The letter will share with students if they will attend on Day 1 (August 12), Day 2 (August 13) or Day 3 (August 14). Each day we will be in session from 8:30-2:30.
Students who participated virtually or who are new to our school will be given their day during their onboarding. If you are a virtual or new student and do not have a meeting scheduled, please contact the front office this week. Students participating in Day Treatment will continue with the plan in place at the end of last year and we will follow decisions made during our CFT meetings.

We will host a virtual Orientation on August 10 at 6:00 PM. The link to our Orientation will be posted on our school page that morning. Please follow our school page to ensure you get all updates during the school year.

All students needs bus transportation must complete our Bus Rider Google Form. The QR code for this can be found on our school’s page or in your letter!

We hope everyone is having a great summer and we can’t wait to see you soon!
