Circle time looks a little different at every age, but it’s an important part of our preschool day!
For our 1–5 year olds, circle time helps children with these skills below.
Building attention and listening skills while learning to sit, listen, and follow along for short periods of time.
Growing our language skills through songs, stories, conversations, and learning new words.
Practicing our social skills while learning to take turns, participate as a group, and listen to friends.
Learning through play and repetition letters, numbers, colors, shapes, Bible stories, songs, and more are introduced in age appropriate ways.
Building a sense of community children can learn that they are part of a classroom family where everyone has a place.
And most importantly, circle time is not about expecting little ones to sit perfectly still. We meet children where they are! For our youngest students, it may be just a few minutes of songs and movement, while our older preschoolers can participate for longer.
Circle time is simply one of the many ways we make learning fun, engaging, and developmentally appropriate for every age!
