We are excited to officially announce our 2026–2027 Hawks Nest STEAM Academy school theme:

✨ FIND YOUR CURRENT ✨

A current is always moving. It changes direction, adapts to what’s around it, gains strength, and carries everything in its path forward.

And this year, so will we. đź’›

🌊 Find Your Purpose.
Know your “why.” Discover what excites you, recognize your strengths, and stay focused on where you want to go.

🌊 Embrace the Current.
Change is part of growth. We will learn to adapt, innovate, try new things, and see challenges as opportunities to become even better.

🌊 Build Momentum.
Big waves start with small movements. The choices we make every day—working hard, showing kindness, taking risks, and refusing to give up—move us forward.

🌊 Choose Courage.
Sometimes finding your current means being brave enough to try something new, take a different path, or believe you can do something you’ve never done before.

No Hawk moves forward alone. When our students, staff, families, and community support one another, our individual currents become something much more powerful.

And, remember to register for or renew your Gaston County Schools volunteer status! bit.ly/GCSvolunteer Renewal is required with each new school year. Maintaining your approved GCS volunteer status is necessary to attend field trips or volunteer for any school functions.

What a special day at Hawks Nest STEAM Academy welcoming our newest Hawks, the Class of 2039 and their families!

Meet the Teacher is just 1 week away! Stop by the Nest next Monday 8/10 4:30-6:30 pm.

Remember to bring any Stock the Lounge items to the PTO's table in the gym!

And, make it a pizza night! Head to Hungry Howie's on your way home - a portion of all sales that night are returned back to Hawks Nest PTO.

It was a family affair today, and students really made sure their school would shine! A special thanks from the PTO to the donations provided, and to those who gave their time and energy to help make Hawks Nest beautiful.

Tomorrow’s the day! We hope to have your helping hands ready the Nest for this upcoming school year.

We plan to clean the flower beds, replenish mulch, trim shrubs and add more where we can!

Come play in the dirt! Any and all donations of supplies - soil, mulch, plants, pots - are welcome and much appreciated!!

We're wishing all of Hawks Nest a "supreme" school year!

Before or after meeting your teacher on Aug. 10, hop over to Hungry Howie's for an easy dinner that supports the PTO.

All orders placed at the Union Road location - online or in-store - between 4 and 9 p.m. that day return proceeds back to us. Cheese the day!
