The Schieleโ€™s exceptional museum exhibits include dinosaur fossils, wildlife displays, gems and minerals, and American Indian artifacts. In addition, the museum has a state-of-the-art planetarium, a Nature Trail, a replica Catawba Indian Village, and โ€œThe Farmโ€, a showcase of local agriculture and live animals.

The Schiele is part of the initiative to celebrate Americaโ€™s 250th birthday on July 4, 2026.

In honor of this special year, explore Gaston County! Pick up a Gaston 250 Passport at the Gaston County Museum of Art & History or the Gaston County Public Library. Schiele Summer Camps include hands-on activities, science experiments, animal encounters, and themed projects, plus recreation and field trips to community attractions.

Opening this September, the Elizabeth Williams Robinson Hall of Dinosaurs will showcase more than authentic dinosaur fossils ๐Ÿฆ• and fossil casts - it will also highlight the incredible craftsmanship of our exhibit preparers ๐Ÿ–Œ๏ธ๐Ÿ”จ๐ŸŽจ.

From hand-painted murals and sculpted concrete landscapes to original works of art, every detail of the space beneath and around the dinosaurs has been thoughtfully designed. The environment will be just as unforgettable as the giants that inhabit it.
