Members of Gassaway Baptist Church will be gathering at school flagpoles all over Braxton County tonight to pray for students, staff, and families county-wide. To represent Anchor of Hope Christian Academy, families will be gathering at the flagpole at Gassaway Baptist Church at 6 pm. We hope you'll join us there or join a group at a school near you. There's no better place to put the 2026-27 school year than in God's hands!

Families, we're excited to welcome you and your student to the official start of the 2026-27 Academy year tomorrow, August 17th!

Some Reminders:

⏰Arrival is 7:30 am - 8:00 am.

👷‍♀️Watch the parking lot attendant for directions if you missed the demonstration at Family Orientation.

🚘Use the drive-through awning unless using the Early Learning Center's services to drop your student off before 7:30 am.

👩‍🏫Class begins at 8:05 am.

🎒 Students will be eating packed lunch the first month of school. Please remember to pack your student a healthy lunch.

⏰Dismissal is 3:20 pm - 3:50 pm.

🚘 Dismissal is under the drive-through awning unless using the Early Learning Center services to pick your child up after 3:50 pm.

Anchor Families,

If you need care for your child before our drop off window begins (7:30 am) or after the pick up window closes (3:50 pm), we invite you to sign up for "Out of School Time" care at GBC Early Learning Center. Child care is also available on Academy holidays, professional learning days, and weather closures (if we have any). AHCA students receive a discounted rate. Families, please make sure your child's Hope Scholarship application is marked "Approved". If your child's application is not marked "Approved" by August 1st, his/her funding will not arrive until October 15th making it difficult for most schools/academies to operate. You may need to contact your local board of education to ensure they have received your Notice of Intent. You may need to re-send it or deliver it by hand.

Enrolling Families, August is right around the corner! If you haven't already done so, be sure to log into your child's Hope Scholarship account and select us as your child's school for 2026-27. This is a critical step to ensuring a smooth back-to-school process.

If your child is still marked "Eligible" instead of "Approved", be sure to call the county board of education and make sure your Notice of Intent was received and processed.

If you have any questions, reach out the Hope Scholarship Engagement Team. They are a fabulous resource!

We offer a variety of care and academic enrichment opportunities for school-age children up through 12 years old!

🚍 Before & After-School - $5 per day
- Buses to and from Davis, Sutton, & BCMS (Frametown TBD)

⭐ All Day Academic Enrichment - $35 per day
- Known school holidays/breaks, professional learning days

❄ Weather & Short-Notice School Outages - $ Varies
- $7.50 per day delays and early dismissals
- $35 per day for full day closures

MountainHeart and other child care assistance rates accepted based on daily rate provided to parent/guardian as part of program participation.
