Ole Miss Indians Running

The Mississinewa Coed Cross Country team was recently recognized with an Exemplary Behavior Award following the Taylor University Cross Country Invitational on August 29.

Throughout the meet, Mississinewa’s boys and girls runners demonstrated outstanding sportsmanship. Athletes cheered not only for their teammates, but also for competitors from other schools. After races, runners took the time to congratulate others as they finished, and many went out of their way to thank the meet officials for their work.

According to official Alan Wright, the athletes represented Mississinewa High School and the Mississinewa community with pride, class, and respect.

This recognition is a reflection of the entire team, and the coaches, parents, and school community can be proud of the way these student-athletes represented Ole Miss!

Kyler North delivered one of the finest distance seasons in Mississinewa Track & Field history during the 2026 season. Through his leadership, determination, and tireless work ethic, Kyler earned honors at every level of competition while leaving a lasting mark on the program.

2026 Accomplishments:

IATCCC Academic All-State
HSR Indoor State Finals Qualifier in three events (3200m, 4x400 Relay, & 4x800 Relay)
Grant County Champion – 800m, 1600m, & 4x400 Relay
CIC Conference Champion – 800m & 1600m
IHSAA Sectional Champion – 800m & 4x400 Relay
IHSAA Regional Qualifier – 800m & 4x400 Relay
IHSAA State Finals Qualifier – 800m
Indiana All-Star (Senior Team)

One of the highlights of Kyler's remarkable season came when he rewrote the Mississinewa record books by breaking the school record in the 800-meter run. His time surpassed a record that had stood since 1975, cementing his place among the greatest runners in school history. Congratulations, Kyler!

William Couse put together one of the most accomplished throwing seasons in Mississinewa history during the 2026 track and field season. His dedication, consistency, and relentless work ethic earned him recognition at the conference, sectional, regional, and state levels while rewriting the school's record books.
