Mississinewa High School Girls Soccer was recognized by the IHSAA through an Exemplary Behavior Report!

A special shoutout to #00 Sydney Ott and #2 Clara Drury for representing the Lady Indians with incredible leadership, toughness, and sportsmanship.

The IHSAA official praised Sydney for staying positive and encouraging her teammates, even through difficult moments, while Clara showed tremendous determination after taking a hard ball to the face and returning to the match, nearly scoring the game-winning goal!

The official shared: “These two ladies were fun to watch tonight. They are great role models for their teammates.”

The official also praised both teams for playing one of the cleanest matches they’ve refereed in many days.

Way to represent Mississinewa with class! ❤️⚽️🤍

Mississinewa Community School Corporation will operate on a two-hour delay on Thursday, August 13, due to flooding and current road conditions throughout our district.

At this time, five of our bus routes are experiencing areas of significant flooding, creating concerns about our ability to safely reach all scheduled bus stops.

The two-hour delay will allow us to wait until daylight and reassess road conditions Thursday morning. Our Transportation Department will evaluate the affected routes to determine whether our buses can safely travel the roads and reach each stop.

The safety of our students and staff is our highest priority.

If conditions do not improve or we determine that buses cannot safely complete their routes, we will communicate any additional changes as early as possible Thursday morning.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we prioritize the safety of our students and staff.

Understanding School Funding in Indiana

How are Indiana public schools funded, and why are many school districts discussing school finance?

This educational video from the Indiana Association of School Business Officials (IASBO) provides a helpful overview of how Indiana's school funding system works and how local property taxes contribute to a school district's operating budget.

🎥 Watch the IASBO school funding video here:
https://vimeo.com/1198496789?&login=true =

At Mississinewa Community School Corporation, local property taxes currently account for approximately 17% of the district's operating revenue, compared to the statewide average of approximately 31%. With the implementation of Senate Enrolled Act 1 (SEA 1), the district projects that local property taxes will make up an even smaller percentage of its operating revenue in the coming years. These are among the financial factors the district has shared with the community as part of its ongoing public education efforts.

To learn more about school funding, the district's financial information, frequently asked questions, and the November 3, 2026 Operating Referendum, please visit the district's referendum information page:
