The Surgery Student Interest Group (SIG) at Indiana University School of Medicine Northwest recently hosted a hands-on suturing workshop for medical students!

We were excited to welcome a practicing general surgeon who demonstrated basic suturing techniques and shared practical tips from the operating room. Students had the opportunity to practice foundational skills in a supportive, interactive environment.

The American Medical Women’s Association (AMWA) hosted a fun and engaging trivia night featuring women’s health–related topics and exciting prizes! 🧠🥗🎉

AMWA is dedicated to advancing women in medicine and improving women’s health through advocacy, education, and leadership—and this event was a great example of learning while having fun together. Thank you to everyone who joined us for a memorable evening! 💙

🎉 We’re thrilled to announce that three of our students have been awarded the Hazel and Tommy Thompson Cardiac Research Scholarship from the Indiana University School of Medicine (IUSM)!

This scholarship, established in 1974 by Jane Thompson Gowan in honor of her parents, recognizes medical students with an interest in cardiac research. At IUSM, the award supports students participating in the medical school’s summer research program — the Indiana Medical Student Program for Research and Scholarship (IMPRS).

We are immensely proud of our students for their dedication, passion, and commitment to medicine. Congratulations again!
