Beautiful news report on GMC’s graduation in the Gary Post Tribune today. Congrats!!

The 97 graduates from Gary Middle College had a right to exuberance as they picked up hard-earned high school diplomas Friday. Most were high school dropouts and journeyed non-traditional paths to their diplomas.

She’s 68. She never gave up. And today, she earned her high school diploma. That’s a story worth writing about. Oh look, the local newspaper reporter is interviewing her.

So proud of Janet. She’s the face of perseverance and determination. Congratulations on your graduation from our Gary Middle College today. You are why we exist.

Dear Gary Middle College families and students,

First, thank you for choosing GMC. I hope you are earning your diploma and earning college credits toward a degree or a career certification. That’s why we exist. To support you and your efforts toward a better tomorrow.

I’d like to ask a favor of you. Last year, 124 students did not complete their high school diploma at Gary Westside. I’m not sure why not, but I’d like GMC to help them to the finish line. Do you know one of these students? Can you share with them that we can help? We need to spread the word. We are free. We are flexible. We are different. Anything you can do to help, please do. Thank you.
