Lake Ridge Is Here for Our Community

As our community continues to recover from the devastating storm, Lake Ridge Schools remains committed to supporting our families, neighbors, and community members during this difficult time.

On Monday, August 24 and Tuesday, August 25, our Lake Ridge Schools Conference Center will once again be open to the public as a Cooling & Charging Station, with breakfast and lunch available.

Breakfast: 9:00–11:30 a.m.
Lunch: 12:00–2:30 p.m.

Meals will be packaged to go, or you are welcome to stay, cool off, charge your devices, enjoy some water or coffee, and have your meal with us.
We know these past several days have been incredibly difficult for many of our families and neighbors. Please know that you are not alone. We will continue doing what we can to support our community as we recover together.

IMPORTANT DISTRICT UPDATE

Dear Lake Ridge Families and Community,

As we continue to recover from the devastating storm that has impacted our schools, homes, and community, two of our five district buildings remain without power. At this time, we are still unable to safely resume normal school operations.

Lake Ridge New Tech Schools will remain closed on Monday, August 24, and Tuesday, August 25, 2026.

We know this has been an incredibly difficult and uncertain time for our families. Many in our community continue to deal with power outages, property damage, and the challenges that come with recovering from such a significant storm. Above all, we sincerely hope that our students, families, and staff are safe and doing well.

Our teams continue to work diligently to restore our buildings and ensure that everything necessary is in place for a safe return. We must consider every aspect of our operations, including safe and functioning facilities, transportation, meals, utilities, and the overall learning environment before welcoming our students and staff back.

We are deeply grateful to our maintenance and janitorial teams, first responders, linemen, utility workers, community partners, and everyone who continues to work tirelessly to help Lake Ridge and our surrounding community recover.

We understand the challenges these continued closures may create, and we truly appreciate the patience, grace, and understanding our families have shown us. We will continue to assess our buildings and provide updates as soon as additional information becomes available.

Please continue to take care of yourselves and one another. We are in this together, Lake Ridge.

Warrior Football: Let’s Come Together, Lake Ridge!

After everything our community has faced following the devastating storm, we could all use an opportunity to come together and enjoy something positive.

The Calumet High School Athletic Department will be reducing admission prices for our upcoming football game in hopes of giving our families an affordable evening to spend together while showing some love and support for our Warrior Football Team!

Calumet vs. Fairfield — Friday, August 21
Doors Open: 5:30 p.m. | Kickoff: 6:30 p.m.

Admission:
High School Students & Adults — $5
Middle School Students & Younger—$3

Bring your family, wear your Warrior gear, and help us pack the stands! After a difficult week, this is an opportunity to reconnect, support one another, and enjoy an evening together as a community.

We’ve been through a lot, Lake Ridge, but we are stronger when we come together.

Come out and show our Warriors some love! Warrior Strong. Community Strong.

Community Food Distribution – Friday, August 21

We are pleased to share an additional community resource for families and residents impacted during this difficult time.

Calumet Township Trustee Tai Adkins, in partnership with the Lake Ridge Fire Station, will host a Mobile Food Distribution for residents of Unincorporated Calumet Township.

📍 Lake Ridge Fire Station

Friday, August 21
Registration begins at 9:00 a.m.
Food distribution begins at 10:00 a.m.

This will be a drive-thru distribution with prepackaged food. One household per vehicle. ID is required, and food will be available while supplies last.

Please help us spread the word by sharing this information with family, friends, and neighbors who may benefit.

On Tuesday, August 18, our Conference Center at 3900 Calhoun Street will remain open to the public as a cooling and charging station. Water and coffee will also be available.

Thanks to the support of our community partners, we will also be providing:

We know this has been an incredibly difficult time for so many in our community. Many of our neighbors are still without power and continue to navigate the challenges left behind by this devastating storm.

Today, we invite anyone in our community who needs a place to cool off, charge their devices, get some water, or simply take a break to join us at the Lake Ridge Schools Conference Center, 3900 Calhoun Street, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Please use the entrance near the football gates.

We are also incredibly grateful to our friends and community partners at Chartwells, who are helping us provide 200 snack bags for those who stop by today. Snack bags will be available while supplies last.

We know we cannot take away all of the challenges our community is facing, but we hope we can provide a little comfort and support during this difficult time.
Please know that this is open to the entire community. You do not need to be a Lake Ridge family to stop by.

Take care of yourselves, take care of one another, and know that Lake Ridge is here for you.
