Yesteday I surprised my After School Matters Braidology students in Chicago with a challenge.

They had 2½ hours to complete Miracle Knots on a model.

Halfway through the challenge we ran out of hair… but instead of stopping, these amazing young ladies figured it out.

They incorporated ombré hair into their design and created a beautiful finished look.

One thing we teach in Braidology is that success is not about perfection — it’s about problem solving, creativity, and confidence.

I am so proud of these young innovators. The future of beauty is in good hands. 💫
