Less than 50 miles from New York City, the Garrison Union Free School District is a unique, one-building school district located in the town of Philipstown, a community that values
its historical significance and local culture. A nationally recognized Blue Ribbon school, the Garrison School serves about 235 students in Kindergarten through 8th grades. Approximately 92 high school age students have the opportunity to attend one of two neighboring high schools, with tuition paid by Garrison UFSD. With full-day kindergarten, small class sizes and a variety of enrichment opportunities, the Garrison School prides itself on its nurturing environment and dedication to student success. Garrison is also known for its extremely supportive community, as evidenced by the high rate of volunteerism and community participation in 13 school advisory committees. Students are encouraged to achieve at high levels academically, creatively, physically and socially. All students experience opportunities for learning that go beyond classroom walls. Grade level teams of K-2, 3-5 and Middle School 6-8 collaborate weekly to plan and provide educational experiences utilizing school, community, historical and cultural resources and state-of-the-art technology.
