Day 3 at Convention!

Today was packed with leadership, celebration, and a little friendly competition!

Our garrison FFA members participated in the business session, voting on the Texas FFA Constitution and Bylaws, listening to our retiring state officers’ addresses, and casting votes for our national officer candidates. We got to witness first hand a super awesome laser light show, a keynote address from Courtenay DeHoff, an American television host, keynote speaker, and advocate for agriculture and Western culture.

A huge congratulations to Andi Beth Gardner for crossing the stage to receive her $20,000 HLSR Scholarship—we are so proud of you! 🎉👏

During the second general session, we listened to 12 incredible state officer candidate speeches and voted on next year’s travel team.

We wrapped up the day with dinner and some team bonding at Topgolf. A few members walked away with green jackets… while the rest of us may need to stick to putt-putt.

Day 2 at the Texas FFA State Convention was one to remember!

We explored the exhibit hall, proudly received our Fresh Country Fundraiser Gold Status Banner, and attended the Cultivating Leadership Workshop. We also had the honor of watching Katherine Lindemann walk the stage to receive her Texas FFA Lone Star Degree—a well-deserved achievement!

We wrapped up the day singing along at the kickoff concert with Aaron Watson and finished the night the best way possible: breakfast for dinner

Day 1 of our 98th Annual State Convention in Fort Worth, Texas was a great one!

We explored the Stockyards, enjoyed lunch at Risky’s, watched the famous cattle drive, challenged ourselves in an escape room, grabbed dinner at Velvet Taco, and topped it all off with Crumbl cookies.

Lots of laughs, great company, and a fun start to convention!

AS A REMINDER:

We will be holding a Piney Woods Fair Exhibitor Meeting TONIGHT from 6:00–6:30 PM in the Ag Building.

This meeting is not mandatory, but make sure you are entered as it is the exhibitor's responsibility.

All exhibitors (broilers, rabbits, lambs, goats, swine) must enter and pay on the ShowmanApp and market animals Lambs, Goats, and Swine must physically be taken to the Expo at the validation on June 20th .

The official validation for ALL Piney Woods Fair Market Entries will be Saturday, June 20th from 6:00 AM to 9:00 AM at the Nacogdoches County Expo Center in Barn 3.

Major steer and heifer validation will be at the conclusion of the county validation, usually at 9:00 AM.

Garrison FFA BBQ Potato Pre-Order Fundraiser

Tuesday, June 9th – $10 BBQ baked potato with all the fixings. This is a pre-order only fundraiser.

Orders will be available for pickup at one of two locations:
1. Lowe’s parking lot in Nacogdoches
2. The back dock of the Garrison ISD cafeteria

Orders are due Monday, June 8th.

*POTATOES WILL BE READY FOR PICKUP ON TUESDAY, JUNE 9TH AT 11:30 AM*

Please contact a Garrison FFA Officer of Advisor to pre order your potatoes.

All proceeds benefit the Garrison FFA Officer Team’s expenses for the Texas FFA State Convention in July.

We’ve redesigned our schedule for the 2026 Fair and wanted to give everyone plenty of notice as you begin preparing for the upcoming year.

Garrison FFA had an incredible day at the Piney Woods District Convention on Monday! With over 18 schools and 200 members in attendance, it was a great opportunity to showcase leadership, talent, and dedication.

We kicked off the morning strong with FOUR outstanding public speakers competing in the district speaking contest.

A special congratulations to Suhani Kumar, who successfully completed the district officer election process (test, interview, application, writing prompt, and speech) and earned the position of Piney Woods District Vice President!

We are also proud of our contest participants:
Gavin Lindsay – 3rd Place Plant Science (advancing to area!)
Andi Beth Gardner – 4th Place Animal Science
Maveryk Cranford – 7th Place Junior Prepared Speaking
Maloree Puckett – Extemporaneous Speaking

Several of our members attended the convention to support Suhani and played an important role in selecting the area officer and talent teams that will represent our district at the Area IX Convention in May.
