A very special mom posted this on her wall recently. I am sharing it here, as we want you to know, that when you and your child walk through the front red doors at St. Philip's Nursery School, know that your child will be safe, your child will be happy, and most of all, your child will be loved!
We will be here for you every step of the way. 🫶🏻🫶🏻
Dear Preschool,
I hope you understand the kind of hearts you’re welcoming this year.
You’re getting the babies who just learned to put on their own stringless shoes.
The ones who still say “hold you” instead of “hold me.”
The little boys who carry dinosaurs in their pockets and tears in their eyes when it’s time to say goodbye.
The little girls who bring their blankies for comfort and still need help with zippers.
The ones who believe their mama is magic—and might cry when she disappears around the corner.
You’re getting the tiniest pieces of our hearts.
You’ll see big milestones—first crafts, first friendships, first songs learned by heart.
But what you won’t see is the mama sitting in her car, wiping away tears,
wondering if her baby will feel safe,
if someone will notice when they look unsure,
if someone will help them find the bathroom… or their voice.
These aren’t just students.
They’re someone’s whole world.
We’ve rocked them through sleepless nights, cheered their first steps,
and wrapped them in love every single day of their lives.
And now, we hand them to you—
with trust that you’ll hold space for all their wonder,
their wobbliness,
their wild, beautiful spirits.
So please…
See them.
Gently guide them.
Protect their softness.
Know that in every tiny backpack is a child carrying the weight of a mama’s love.
Because this isn’t just the start of school.
It’s the very beginning of letting go—
for both of us.
