Tom Huynh, a two-time winning champion of the National Walleye Tour, visited with 5th and 6th classes this morning. He’s one of the fishermen in Garrison for the NWT Championship fishing derby next weekend. He shared a positive message about working hard to pursue your goals and answered questions from our students! Thank you to Mr. Belisle for setting up this opportunity and to Tom for taking this time to make a difference with our kids!

Elementary school reminders:
Picture Day is Monday! Jostens plans to be set up and ready to go at 7 am-4 pm! You can take your child directly to the north gym door to take their photo! (The office is staffed after 7:30 am so if you have any other needs, you may want to wait until after that time.)
Gearing Up for Kindergarten Open House 1:00!
PreK-6th Grade Open House is any time starting at 3:00 and concluding at 4:00!
First Day of School on Tuesday! We are so excited to see everyone!

Dennis Eslinger’s, Dan Splichal’s, and Hunter Andes’s routes will remain the same as in previous years.

The Northern Route to Douglas/Southern Route to Fort Stevenson will be driven by Keith Witt in the morning, with some changes occurring in the afternoon. There will be times when one driver covers the entire route in the afternoon and other times when the route will be split between mini-buses, similar to what we did this past year.

The White Shield route will be driven by Gene Ide in the morning and Jean Witt in the afternoon.

Football transportation will be driven by Keith Witt when school starts, with additional drivers helping once games begin.

The district is still planning to transition transportation services to Harlow’s throughout this school year. This should have little to no impact on our current routes and activities. Simply put, Harlow’s will gradually take over the transportation services using our existing drivers.

As always, if you or someone you know is willing to drive a bus, please let Dr. Klemisch know. The district will completely cover the cost of training to obtain your CDL. If you don’t want to drive a large bus but would be willing to drive a mini-bus, we would like to hear from you as well.

Beginning this school year, driver pay is **$25/hour for activities** and **$30/hour for routes**. Paid time begins when you start the bus and continues until you are finished with the route or activity.

Thank you to all of our drivers for their willingness to help and for the important role they play in safely transporting our students. We appreciate their flexibility and commitment as we work through this transition and continue providing reliable transportation for our students and activities.
