🎉🏈 Congratulations to our Blue Dragon Football team on the BIG WIN last night to kick off the season! 🏈🎉

We want to wish all of our Blue Dragon athletes a fantastic fall season! Best of luck to our soccer, volleyball, cross country, and football teams!

Many of our FFA members are also student-athletes, working hard to balance practices, competitions, school, and FFA. We are so proud of the dedication and commitment they show every day!

💙💛 GARRETSON FFA IS HEADING TO THE NATIONAL STAGE! 💛💙
The excitement is building, and we couldn’t be more proud to share that Garretson FFA has qualified for the National Chapter Award!

Our chapter has earned a 2-Star National Chapter Award, recognizing the hard work our members have put into growing our chapter, developing leaders, serving our community, and making an impact through agriculture.

This fall, Garretson FFA will be recognized on stage during the 2nd General Session of the 99th National FFA Convention & Expo in Indianapolis!

What an incredible honor for our members, our chapter, our families, and our community. This achievement represents countless hours of work and the commitment our members have made to living out the FFA mission every day.

We are so proud to represent Garretson, South Dakota, and South Dakota FFA on the national stage!

The deadline to register for South Dakota State Fair FFA events is Saturday, August 1.

If you plan to exhibit or participate, be sure to complete your registration before the deadline.

Day 3 of C.O.L.T. (Chapter Officer Leadership Training) Recap from Friday!

We wrapped up our final day of officer retreat by reflecting on the experiences we shared, capturing some leadership team photos in official dress (until the heat decided it had other plans), and making a quick stop for a little shopping, because when you are close to an outlet mall, you make it happen! We finished the day with lunch before heading back home to Garretson.

While this retreat was filled with fun, adventure, and team-building, the true purpose was developing a stronger leadership team. Our officers spent time learning about themselves, understanding their roles, building relationships, and creating a vision for how they want to serve our chapter this year.

These students continue to inspire me. They have put so much thought, effort, and heart into planning the year ahead, keeping ALL of our current members and future members in mind. They are committed to creating opportunities where every member feels valued, included, and connected.

Leadership is not about a title—it is about service, purpose, and the impact we make on others. I cannot wait to watch this team bring their ideas to life and see the positive difference they make leading the Garretson FFA Chapter. Members get ready for an unforgettable year ahead!

Day 2 of C.O.L.T. (Chapter Officer Leadership Training)!
Today was all about team bonding and strengthening the relationships that will help our officer team lead Garretson FFA throughout the year.

We started the morning with a delicious breakfast prepared and served by our junior officers before heading to the Omaha Zoo for a day of exploring, learning, and making memories together. After cooling down and rehydrating back at the house, we enjoyed dinner at Hog Wild Pit Bar-B-Q before spending some time touring parts of Omaha.

To wrap up the evening, we put our teamwork and problem-solving skills to the test at House of Conundrum, where we successfully escaped the Sherlock Breakout Room!

We're ending the night the best way possible; with snacks, conversation, laughter, and simply being present with one another.

One of the most rewarding parts of this retreat has been watching this group of young leaders genuinely enjoy each other's company. Seeing friendships deepen, conversations flow naturally, and everyone encourage one another reminds me that great leadership begins with strong relationships. These moments may seem small, but they're building the trust and teamwork that will make a lasting impact on our chapter this year.

We will wrap up and head home tomorrow!
