This course is designed for shooters who want to build (or rebuild) their handgun skills the right way. We focus on the fundamentals that actually drive performance. Grip, stance, sight alignment, trigger control, and follow-through. Using a structured mix of dry-fire and live-fire training. Emphasis is placed on accuracy first, then learning how to apply those fundamentals under time and mild pressure without losing control. Students receive clear performance standards, individual coaching, and practical feedback they can carry forward into future practice. Whether you’re new to handgun shooting or self-taught and looking to clean things up, this class provides a solid, repeatable foundation that everything else builds on.

I’ll always keep this magazine to remind me how lucky we are this bill was allowed to sunset back in 2004. The majority of us who lived through it, will pick up spare magazines whenever we find them for a good deal.

For those of you who didn’t, just stop and think about being excited that you found some ratted out used USGI aluminum mag, that didn’t have cracked feed lips for $25.00 each. Knowing, you were going to have to replace the spring and the follower.

G***k mags? Yeah, if you found drop free mags for under $100.00 each, you bought them. No questions asked.

Imagine building an AR and being limited on what you can do, because you couldn’t find an affordable “pre-ban” r***e to build on.

Nothing specific brought this to the front of my mind, except finding this magazine. As fi****ms enthusiasts, it’s important that we pay attention to legislation that threatens our freedoms.

In my opinion, good instructors don’t rest on their laurels, they strive to remain relevant and continue to take training as a student under other instructors.

To this end, I had the opportunity to attend two different instructor level courses through Rangemaster this year, both the Fi****ms Instructor Development course and the Advanced Fi****ms Instructor Development course.

Taking these courses has influenced my curriculum and that will be reflected in my 2024 classes. First two classes for 2024 are on the schedule. As always, if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out!

My shooting buddies and I recently burned through all of the powder we’ve been using for a couple of years. In a pursuit to always do better, we did a bit of research and found that Vihtavuori N320 might be better than the N350 we had been using.

I decided to try the “Pro Load Tip” on their website as a starting point. Since it was a max load, I decided to take advantage of the Kansas heat today and let them sit in my truck for 1.5 hours today before headed to the range. As you can see from the pic, it was pretty warm in there. Even after firing a couple of magazines in rapid succession, there were no indications of high pressures.

Then I decided to try a slow fired group, freehand, from seven yards. I’ll wring it out at distance later, but I’m extremely happy with this group as is. Mix match range brass of various manufacturers, 4.0 grains of N320, CCI 500 unplayed primers and Rocky Mountain Reloading’s 124 grain truncated cone FMJ.

What does this certificate mean? It means I’m preparing to offer the most realistic training available. UTM utilizes conversion kits that allow non-lethal cartridges to be fired from actual fi****ms. These conversions also make it impossible to fire live am******on.

I’m going to offer a variety of classes to include low light, negotiating structures and fighting from vehicle classes.

Like almost everything else in the fi****ms industry, UTM is running behind due to large back orders. It will be about three months before I receive the required equipment.

If you’d like more information, contact me and I’d be happy to answer any questions.
