GC4 is a non-profit organization formed by members of Garner church parishes to address and fill the community's child care needs. GC4 opened on March 6, 2017.

The Mission of Garner Community Christian Child Care (GC4), in partnership with home and community, is to provide a Christ-centered, safe, educational and developmentally appropriate environment for children. The core of our program is derived from Christian values with an emphasis on love, trust and respect.

🎒NOW HIRING ASSISTANT TEACHERS!!🍎 As we prepare for our 2026 School Year we need to hire several Assistant Teachers to help us continue to thrive! We will soon serve 2-3 times our current number of students, and that means we'll need a lot more caring hands to help with all the kiddos!

If you love working with children, or know someone who does, please encourage them to apply.

- Child Care Assistance from the State of Iowa for your children to attend GC4 (regardless of income), and we waive the $75 enrollment fee
- Stipends, scholarships, and job training from the State of Iowa to further your early childhood education coursework and support your career growth (through our participation in the IQ4K program)

Pay is based on experience, with significant opportunities for advancement upon achieving key employment milestones!!

Assistant Teachers will work closely with Lead Teachers to create a safe, fun, and nurturing environment where children can learn, grow, and feel loved every day. This role involves assisting with daily classroom activities, supervising children, and helping promote their social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.

GC4 we will soon become the largest childcare center in Hancock County. Now is the ideal time to start a childcare career with our family of passionate educators!

Our sweet Emma Kudej had her last day with us today! Emma has been an employee with us since February of 2020.

To say we will miss her is an understatement, Emma is a phenomenal worker and friend and we will miss her beyond words!! Thank you for all your hard work day in and day out for the center!

We wish her the best of luck in her teaching career!! We love you!!🥰 🫶🏼

A huge shout-out to JJ Wise and Jim and Tom Legge for their generous support with the water trailer and tank! We truly appreciate your help in making our community's child care center beautiful.

The setup has worked perfectly... in fact, ever since we got it up and running, we've had 10+ inches of rain! 🌧️😂 Turns out the best way to end a dry spell is to invest in watering equipment!

🏆THANKFUL THURDAY: Recognizing GC4 Supporters, Boosters, and Friends ($25 - $10,000) 🏆

When we launched the capital project for the new center back in 2024, we wanted to find creative ways to honor our generous donors and make them feel appreciated, welcome, and at home in our new space. We collaborated with our wonderful partner ATURA Architecture to design tasteful, sophisticated recognition plaques that are visible from the moment you enter the new building.

A large tree in the shape of the GC4 logo with leaves in multiple shades of green recognizes donors who gave $10,000 or more, who we call Supporters, Partners, Patrons, Champions, and Visionaries.

On the wall opposite the tree is a black, mirrored plaque with a list of all donors contributing $1,000 or more. The donors giving $1000 - $9,999 are called Boosters.

Finally, we honor our GC4 Friends who contribute anywhere from $25 - $999. These individuals, and all donors, are named on the About Us page of our website. We also regularly thank them here on our page.

🚨 Community Help Needed! 🌸💧

We're on the hunt for a water tank on a trailer that we can **borrow for the summer** to help keep our beautiful landscaping thriving! Thanks to the amazing work by Country Landscapes, our community is looking better than ever—and we'd love to keep it that way.

A pump isn't necessary; gravity will do the job just fine. The tank size isn't a major concern, and we'll fill it periodically with a hose.

If you have a tank you’d be willing to lend or know someone who does, you'd be helping keep our community looking its best all summer long!

What a fun day for our daycare crew! 🎉🍿🚌
Yesterday, our little adventurers got to take a special trip to see Trolls at the local Avery Theater!! The excitement started before we even arrived because everyone got to ride on a big yellow school bus—a first-time experience for some of our friends! 💛🚌
There were lots of smiles, laughter, and singing along during the movie. It was such a wonderful day filled with fun memories and happy faces. Thank you to the theater for helping make this special outing possible!

Also, huge shout out to Heath Heimer for driving our kiddos!! Thank you!!!! 🚌

🙏THANKFUL THURSDAY🙏It's been a few weeks since our Grand Opening, and we want to pause to say thank you to everyone from the community who came out to celebrate with us. It was truly a magnificent event, and standing there together in our beautiful new building (despite the tornado watch!) gave us a sense of pride, joy, and satisfaction that is hard to put into words.

TO THE DONORS: This project absolutely would not have been possible without your generosity. Every gift large and small made a difference.

TO OUR FOUNDERS: Eight years ago you planted the seed that has grown into this center, and we strive every day to honor your legacy.

TO OUR BOARD: Your guidance, vision, and tireless work ethic is the definition of servant leadership.

TO OUR DIGNITARIES: Thank you for taking the time to demonstrate investment in our community. Special thanks to Pastor Cleavy, David Zrostlik, and Laura Zwiefel for sharing beautiful remarks and prayers during the event.
