Back by popular demand: Surry County Sourwood!
Sourwood honey is in stock in the kiosk.
Sourwood honey is prized for its superior flavor and smooth texture. It’s a buttery smooth honey with a hint of spice. Sourwood honey that is nearly water clear is especially desired for its purity. This year’s crop is very light, and appears almost clear on your buttered biscuits!
Derived from the nectar of the sourwood tree, which grows in the Appalachias. To get sourwood,we trailer 16 hives and take them to Surry County from Mid June to Mid July. During this time, we travel frequently to manage the colonies.
Due to rising costs in production, the price this year is $23 per 1 pound jar. I will be making 2 pound jars available later for $45.
