Band Handbooks are being sent home, forms need to be returned by 9/7 and 9/8 (depending on when your student has that class).

The 2026-2027 Volunteer Background Check Application is now open. If you plan to volunteer this school year, please complete the annual background check form for the district.

Day 1 of Drumline Camp!

Please help us extend a warm welcome to JTC's new Head Band Director, Mr. Frank Salinas!!!

Mr. Salinas has been inspiring young musicians since 1998. Originally from McAllen, Texas, Mr. Salinas brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the podium. He earned his bachelor's degree in Tuba Performance from Baylor University, followed by a master's degree in Wind Band Conducting from the University of Texas at El Paso. Committed to lifelong learning, he has also completed postgraduate work at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, UT Austin, and UTRGV.

For the past five years, Mr. Salinas has led the band program at Webb Middle School as Head Band Director. Prior to that, he shaped outstanding programs as the Head Director at MacArthur High School in Irving and Bush High School in Richmond. A versatile educator, his career includes a tenure as Professor of Tuba at UTRGV, alongside valuable assistant roles in Frisco, McAllen, Brownsville, and San Benito.

When he isn't in the band hall, Mr. Salinas loves spending time with his wife, Amanda, their son, Dominick, and their two family cats, Lilo and Stitch.

📣 Band Camp Update

Due to ongoing construction at Jackson, Brass and Woodwind students will NOT have Band Camp next week.

🥁 Percussion Camp will still be held at North Garland High School
📅 Monday, July 27 – Friday, July 31
🕠 5:30 PM – 8:00 PM
🥁 For incoming 7th and 8th graders only.
