Testimony:
“As a pre-teen, I was assaulted from behind by another kid. I remember feeling powerless in that moment.
Years later, jiu-jitsu has given me something I never had back then: confidence, awareness, and the ability to respond under pressure.
That’s one reason I believe jiu-jitsu is especially valuable for women. It isn’t about being the strongest person in the room—it’s about learning leverage, timing, and composure when things get uncomfortable.
Today’s sequence: from the Victor Roll, I use the momentum to expose the back side of the position, transition into backside 50/50, and finish with a heel hook.
What looks like a scramble is really a lesson in control, connection, and using technique over strength.
Every time I train is a reminder that confidence can be built, skills can be learned, and feeling capable is powerful.”
