Meet Ms. Shahda! 📚✏️

She will be teaching Kinder this year at HSAG! She has been a teacher at our school since fall of 2017. For the past 5 years she has taught Pre-K, and knows she will enjoy teaching Kinder, too! She has a 14-year-old daughter named Sophia, who is starting 9th grade, and a sweet little water turtle named "Sprinkles." She enjoys going for bike rides, walking in the woods, watching movies and visiting her extended family in East Texas and Pennsylvania. She looks forward to meeting her new students this fall and helping them become successful learners! 🙂

Meet Ms. Montgomery! 🏖️🦋🪼🦘🐇

This will be her ninth year as a teacher at HSA Garland and her fifth year teaching kindergarten. She is a native Texan who earned a Bachelor of Science in Child Learning and Development from the University of Texas at Dallas.

This summer, she plans to spend time with her pet rabbits and extended family, especially her many nieces and nephews. She enjoys swimming, reading, and visiting aquariums and petting zoos.

☀️Staff Summer Spotlight #1☀️

Meet Ms. Ibarra! 📚✏️

This will be her fifth year teaching at HSAG. She started teaching in 6th grade as a Spanish Teacher and will now be teaching Kindergarten for the fourth year. Her loving family is made up of her husband, her stepson, and her lovely 11-year-old daughter Abigail, who will be in 6th grade this year at HSAG, and their sweet cat Milda. Mrs. Ibarra has a bachelor’s in science and majored in Sociology from TWU. She plans to spend her summer in Argentina and Mexico with family. She loves to spend time outside walking, jogging, biking, roller skating with her daughter, and traveling abroad. She has a passion for meeting people from different cultures; as a teacher, she believes that meeting students from various walks of life enriches her understanding of the world and allows her to appreciate the unique traditions and beliefs that each student brings to her classroom. She loves being part of the HSAG family.

Rain couldn’t stop the excitement at our New Student On-Boarding Event today! ☔🎉 Even with the pouring rain, families showed up with smiles, enthusiasm, and excitement to learn more about our school community. Seeing so many new students and families eager to begin this journey with us made today incredibly special!

We are truly grateful for everyone who came out and made the event such a success. Your energy and support remind us why our school community is so amazing!

A very special thank you goes out to our incredible staff who warmly welcomed our new families every step of the way — from greeting guests at the sign-in table, helping direct families with maps, and opening their classroom doors with welcoming smiles and helpful information.
