Activities that Matter: Dementia Engagement

Thursday October 22nd - 1 hour long - $49

Learn different methods for engaging someone with dementia through the day and through their progression of the disease. We will cover the dementia-based Montessori method, types of activities, why they matter, bonuses of engagement, executing a successful activity, and modifying activities.

Learn basic calligraphy strokes, how to use a pointed pen, the anatomy of a nib, and how to get the ink to flow. The instructor will also lead you through a fun project during the class. Can you believe Summer Adventures is over already?!

Our division just wrapped up the 7 weeks of Summer Adventures 2026. In those 7 weeks we served 122 students, had 296 registrations and helped 21 families attend the program for free with the help of grants and 50+ seats were supported by the MWCC Foundation.

This slideshow is full of all the fun adventures, challenges, games, field trips and art projects that were enjoyed this summer.
