We had Eladia Romero, Leominster Ward 1 City Counselor, Wren Stoddard, Nursing Student at MWCC, MWCC Chief of Police and TRIO Talent Search Alum Melissa Croteau, and members of the Gardner Fire Department speak! Thank you all for showing up for our students!

Final day in DC…went to Fords Theatre…first we went to the alley that Booth escaped to, walked the Museum, heard a retelling of the assassination by a park ranger, toured the Peterson House, saw the upstairs Museum, had lunch and now heading home….it was a tiring week but these kids had a great time, such a great group of students!

Day 4 was awesome! We went to the Army Museum, followed by the Pentagon 9/11 Memorial, and then to the Artechouse, the Natural History Museum and the American History Museum, dinner at O’Connells Restaurant in Old Town Alexandria and hanging out by the water before heading back to the Hotel. Don’t want to jinx myself but this was an awesome trip. One more day and we will be heading home.

Day two was crazy long and full of walking. Good thing we had a perfect weather day for it! We walked all over Arlington National Cemetary, saw the changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unkown Soldiers, saw JFKs Eternal Flame, toured the Arlington House and had some pretty cool pictures of DC from the top. Took a tour of the Capitol Building, saw some important documents at the National Archives, went to the Washington Monument, the Jefferson Memorial had dinner at Rhodeside Grill, sang a happy birthday to Alex, saw the Martin Luther King Jr and Franklin Delano Roosevelt memorials…it was a lot…

Day three was a little more laid back…we tried our hand at being secret agents at the Spy Museum, then went to the Air and Space Museum, quick trip to the National Museum of the Native American, The National Museum of African American History, followed by a quick stop at the Iwo Jima Memorial where the students lounged in the grass followed by a fun night relaxing with each other.
