🐑 Fluffy friends in the making! 🐑

For Farm Animal Week at Discover Academy, our preschoolers had a blast practicing their fine motor skills today. They used fluffy cotton balls to give these adorable little sheep their woolly coats!

We love watching our little learners explore, create, and bring their favorite farm animals to life. 🚜🌾

🚨🚒 Big thanks to Johnson County Consolidated Fire District No. 1 for visiting Discover Academy this week! 👨‍🚒🔥

It is Fire Prevention Week, and our students had the best time learning all about fire safety! From checking out the massive fire engine to seeing a firefighter put on all their heavy safety gear and air tanks, our little learners got an unforgettable, up-close look at our local heroes in action.

The kids learned so many important safety tips, including why firefighters wear all that protective gear (so they know never to be scared of them in an emergency!) and what to do to stay safe.

We are so grateful to the firefighters for taking the time to teach, inspire, and keep our community safe! 🛑🧯

🍎✨ The Grand Finale to Apple Week! ✨🍎

Our Pre-K students wrapped up a fantastic Apple Week with the ultimate hands-on culinary experience—making our very own homemade applesauce!

The children gathered around to watch the entire process unfold. Together, we looked at how apples are cored and peeled, learned how to measure and pour the ingredients safely, and watched everything go into the pot to cook down into a delicious treat.

The best part? The taste test, of course! Everyone loved enjoying the warm, sweet applesauce with a side of crunchy graham crackers. It was the perfect, cozy way to celebrate all of our hard work and learning from the week.

A huge thank you to our amazing teachers for leading such a fun, memorable cooking lesson!

🍎 It’s Apple Week at Discover Academy! 🍏

Our creative Pre-K and Preschool students have been diving into all things autumn, starting with some messy, hands-on fun! This week, we traded in our traditional paintbrushes for real apples.

Our little learners explored textures, shapes, and color mixing as they dipped their apples into vibrant red and yellow paint to stamp out their very own orchard masterpieces. Activities like apple stamping are a fantastic way to develop fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and sensory exploration in early childhood!

Take a look at our busy artists hard at work! 👇🎨
