On March 15, 2025 Santiago Highschool hosted the military ball at the Sheraton Hotel, from 5:30 PM to 11:30 PM. During the ball the color guard, and honorguard performed. The youngest and oldest cadet also cut the cake, as part of the tradition. For the rest of the night the cadets had a great time, and listened to music played by the DJ.

On December 14 2024 the Santiago Batttalion hosted Raiders Competition, at Irvine Regional Park. The male, female, and mixed team had a great competition and challenged themselves. As well as work together and motivate each other. They went through different stations such as rope bridge, knotts, obstacle course, and land navigation. At the end of the competition female team placed 1st. Mixed team and also placed 1st. Male team placed 2nd and male ultimates raider placed 5th. While female ultimate raider placed 2nd, good job to all the raiders that competed. Thank all the cadets that helped during the competition as well.

On December 6 2024, the cadets when Rappelling at North Net Training center. Major Matias demonstrated how to rappelling down a building. After his demonstration cadets were able to face their fears of heights, and build self confidence. As well as spend time with other cadets.

Starting on December 2nd, 2024 the Army JROTC program will be hosting a toy drive in partnership with the OC Food Bank to help families during the holidays. The goal is to be able to donate new, unopened toys to help families in Orange Country for the upcoming holidays. We’d greatly appreciate it if you’d join us in efforts to help children and families for the holiday season. 🧸🎁

Starting on October 21, 2024 the Army JROTC program will be hosting a food drive. In partnership with the OC food bank to help families during the holidays. The goal is to be able to donate non-perishable foods. Some non-perishable food items needs are: Canned vegetable, canned fruits, peanut butter, canned meat and fruits. As well as dried beans, rice, cereal, and pasta. In order to help families in Orange Country for the upcoming holidays. We’d greatly appreciate it if you’d join us in efforts to eliminate food insecurity.

On October 11, 2024 the Santiago AJROTC Color guard performed at the Homecoming assembly. They kickstarted the assembly by presenting the colors, as the Santiago choir sang the Star Spangled Banner. Good job Color guard on their excellent performance, that started the Homecoming assembly off on a good note.

On August 23, 2024 the AJROTC Colorguard presented the colors at the Back to School assembly. The Color-guards performance included C/Pais, C/Nicanor, C/ Salgado, and C/Cao, which was supervised by Major Matias. The performance was a great way to start the assembly, and showcase the hardwork of the Color guard team.

On Friday, August 24, 2024 twenty-three Cadets from the Santiago AJROTC Battalion helped to restore the CAV garden alongside students from the Edible Garden Club. The garden clean up was led by C/Pais and supervised by Mrs. Dimeo. The battalion was able to help make the garden beautiful for the new school year.

On may 29th, C/MAJ Enriquez, C/CPT Angulo, C/CPT Velazquez, and C/2LT Nicanor presented the colors for Santiago’s graduation. The graduation was at Garden Grove High School. Congratulations to the senior cadet’s and all the other cadets that graduated.

The Award ceremony was on April 12, 2024. The guest speaker began the ceremony with an inspirational speech. Following the ceremony to recognize the hard work of the cadets. As well as featured the Armed, Colorguard, and Unarmed team’s performance.
