Our Hill students truly brought the magic of W***y Wonka to life with vibrant costumes, energetic musical numbers, and show-stopping performances! From start to finish, their dedication, creativity, and teamwork lit up the stage and made this production a sweet success for our entire school community. 🎭🌟

A huge THANK YOU to our incredible Hill teachers for their months of dedication to bringing this musical to life — from choreography and singing lessons to set design, costumes, production, and supporting every student’s success. Congratulations to 6th grader Sophia Hua for winning the GGUSD’s 38th Annual Elementary Spelling Bee! 🐝✨
She finished in 1st place out of 44 students across the district, earning the title of Spelling Bee Champion — what an incredible accomplishment!

Hill Elementary joyfully rang in the Lunar New Year surrounded by our amazing students, staff, and families! 🧧✨ It was a beautiful celebration of culture, community, and new beginnings.
A heartfelt thank you to the incredible Lion Dancers and the Vietnamese Student Association from Bolsa Grande High School for their spectacular performance and meaningful presentation on the traditions and significance of Tết. We kicked off our Scholastic Book Fair today and it was amazing seeing our students and families browsing books, checking out fun school supplies, and getting excited about reading! ❤️

The library is filled with great finds — from chapter books and picture books to slime kits, journals, pens, and so many cute treasures the kids love.

Thank you to all the volunteers and families who came out to support our school! 🙌
The Book Fair runs now thru Friday, and don’t forget — we’ll also be open Wednesday night from 3-6pm before our Winter Concert for families who want to shop in the evening!

“GGUSD is proud to celebrate our amazing staff in honor of our 60th Anniversary year! 🌟 This week we are highlighting Sharon Swoboda, a proud Bolsa Grande High School graduate and current Educational Specialist at Hill Elementary School, who has been serving GGUSD students for 27 years. 🙌

Sharon shared, “My favorite teacher from Excelsior encouraged me to work for GGUSD. I started as a substitute and even had the honor of subbing in her classroom before she retired.” 💙

She added, “This district not only prioritizes student learning, inclusivity, and well-being, but also invests in their teachers. Our GGUSD community fosters a place where teachers and students grow together to be lifelong successful learners.” ✨
