Starting in September, Reuseum Educational presents:

STEM Family Fun Nights!

A weekly event, where each Thursday we will be offering a new activity, with a focus on promoting interest in STEM. Here at the Reuseum, we love all things having to do with Science, Math, Engineering, and Technology, and we’re excited to share that passion with you! Plus, we’ll have pizza! :D

We will also have a math tutor on site, for any students who need homework help!

For our first event on September 5th, we have partnered with our friends at All About Games to bring you a board game night featuring the board game In the Footsteps of Darwin.

From boardgamegeek.com: “In In the Footsteps of Darwin, players are junior naturalists who have just arrived aboard the Beagle to help Charles Darwin finish his book On the Origin of Species. During this journey, you will study animals, carry out cartographic surveys, publish your findings, and develop theories.”

In the Footsteps of Darwin is for ages 6+, and each round takes approximately 30 min.

We ask that attendees arrive at 5pm, so we have time to go over the rules with everyone before we begin playing our first game. We will be playing games until 7pm. Late comers are welcome, though you may have to wait a bit if you arrive while we are in between games.

This event is entirely free! All you need to bring is your smiling face.

We hope to see you Thursday!

September 5th
5-7pm
3145 W Chinden Blvd
Garden City, ID 83714

** For all STEM Family Fun Nights, admission is free. However, for maker events in which building kits are required, we will have build kits available for purchase. Information about needed supplies, and associated costs if you purchase those supplies from the Reuseum, will be made available before each event.

Join us August 9th or August 10th in exploring meteorites up close with the Reuseum Educational, Inc. Workshop; Stellar Stones!

This FREE, one hour, interactive lecture will describe different types of meteorites and treat students to a number of interesting, lesser-known facts they can share with their family and friends.

After lunch, students will pair up and choose a meteorite that will be halved by the staff so the students can be the first to view material untouched since it formed over 4.5 billion years ago -- even before the Earth!

Each student will then use lapidary equipment to polish the cut faces of his or her half the same way that lapidaries cut and polish rocks and gemstones. When finished, students will be able to take home their very own rock from space!

Follow the link below to sign up because you MUST register to be able to attend.
