ATTENTION FOOTBALL Parents: due to the expected extreme heat Thursday, the start time for the game at Hays has been pushed back. The 7th grade will start at 6:30 PM, with 8th grade to follow. There will not be a fifth quarter. Students traveling to the game will be dismissed from school at 2:00 PM. We would like athletes to bring something nutritious to eat for the trip. We will feed them before leaving Hays.

Parents who are going to the game, we really encourage you to consider having your athlete ride home with you after the game is over, as the bus won’t arrive back in Garden until close to midnight, if not later. This would allow them to get more and better rest than possible on the bus ride. We also have told the boys to contact their teachers to get Friday’s assignments done early.

ATTENTION FOOTBALL Parents and Athletes: Game schedule begins Monday! Unfortunately high heat also returns.
This will be the schedule for week 1 vs Hays Middle School

Monday: Morning practice (due to extreme heat) 6:00-7:10 AM. After school, all players will meet after school to get game decals on their helmets.

Tuesday: after school practice 3:10-5:15 PM

Wednesday: after school practice 3:10-5:15 PM

Thursday: Game day at Hays Middle School (which is their old high school). Traveling players dismissed at 11:10, game starts at 3:45 PM. Estimated return: very late.

Friday: Game film after school 3:00-4:00 PM, no further practice.

Attention Football Parents and Athletes, a message from Coach Radke:

Monday is projected to again be excessively hot, so we will have morning practice again, 600-710 AM. Players, remember to bring your shoulder pads, cleats, knee pads, and girdles for practice. You can leave your game jerseys and game pants at home.

After school Monday, all football players will need to meet in Coach Radke’s classroom (107) with their electronic devices to get signed into Hudl. This will allow the players to view game film. It should be a short meeting.

Tues-Thurs temperatures appear to better, so we are planning to have practice after school, 310-515 PM.

No decision has been made for practice time on Friday, but it once again appears to be excessively hot. We’ll
have a decision made on Friday’s practice time
by mid week.

Attention Football Parents and Athletes:
A reminder from Coach Radke- practice tomorrow is 6:00-7:10 AM. After school, the boys will be issued out their uniforms for the scrimmage Saturday evening.

Saturday, the team will have a scrimmage from 6:00-7:00 PM at GCHS. Parents, please have your players dropped off by 5:30 PM. The boys will take their gear home along with their uniforms.
It's still going to very hot Saturday evening, so please make sure your athletes drink a lot of water. If there are any notices about weather, I'll send out notifications.

Attention Football Parents and Athletes, we project to have higher temperature tomorrow, near 100 degrees. With that projection, we will have practice both Thursday (8/20) and Friday (8/21) at 6 AM.
We do understand that early practices make it more difficult for you and your athletes, but we feel this is the best way to keep everyone safe.

Thursday afternoon, any player who wants to try out for punter or placekicker will meet with Coach Zapata right after school.
