Dr. Sellars is a Double Board Certified Physiatrist sub-specializing in Sports Medicine. He received his medical degree from New York College of Osteopathic Medicine. He served as a Chief Intern at Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow, N.Y. during his first year of post-graduate residency training. ous New York University –Langone Medical Center/Rusk Institute of Rehabilitation Medicine. There, he served on many leadership tracks throughout residency including mentoring, teaching and learning, and the osteopathic manipulative treatment interest group. Dr. Sellars also completed an AOA Accredited Sports Medicine Fellowship at Cleveland Clinic. During his fellowship year (2011-2012), he served as a team physician for Lakewood High School in Lakewood, Ohio. He was also a team physician for Oberlin College and the Lake Erie Crusher’s Professional Baseball team (Independent/Minor League team). In the spring of 2012, Dr. Sellars spent time working with the Cleveland Indian’s organization at their Spring Training Camp in Goodyear, Arizona. Dr. Sellars has a special interest in treating running athletes and throwing athletes. He volunteered as a physician covering the annual NYC ING Marathon throughout most of his residency and fellowship years. His complete osteopathic approach enables him to get his athletes running again! Dr. Sellars opened his private practice in Garden City, New York. He has privileges at Saint Francis Hospital in Roslyn, New York, Winthrop University Hospital in Mineola, New York, as well as, Pro-Health Ambulatory Surgery Center on Willis Avenue in Mineola, New York. At Saint Francis Hospital, Dr. Sellars answers many consult requests and he performs interventional spine and orthopedic procedures in both locations. In his outpatient practice, he is accepting new patients and treats elite and recreational athletes, sports medicine conditions, osteoarthritis, back pain/spine injuries, amputees and concussion using state of the art treatments ranging from conservative to interventional procedures. Dr. Sellars is a Board Certified Diplomate of the American Osteopathic Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and a Board Certified Diplomate of the American Osteopathic Academy of Sports MEdicine with a Certificate of Added Qualification in Sports Medicine. He is a member of the American Osteopathic Association, American Osteopathic Academy of Sports Medicine, American College of Sports Medicine, American Osteopathic College of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, and the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians.
