Hello! My name is Angie Reed, my daycare has been open since January of 2017. I have worked with children in many different ways throughout most of my life. When my children were young I had a daycare, I also taught in the AWANA progrom for many years. I was a para for several years in eastern KS. I then went into the medical field. We moved to Garden City in 2016.
I participate with the CACFP food program, I am pediatric CPR & First aid certified. My hours of operation are somewhat flexable, I can work with you on that. I have a infant spot and a 18 month + spot opening up this coming August. It is very rare that we watch any cartoons (usually just once-in-a-while for a special occasion). I encourage independance, I also encourage leadership in the older children. They love helping the younger children with puzzles, games, learning colors, shapes, etc. We do crafts, coloring, building, dramatic play, play games, and go outside to play in the play area. I have a small garden that the children help water and pick the fruits and vegetables. I cook from scratch. We love trying new recipes. I like to use this time to teach the children about food. We talk about fruits, veggies, protein, and what vitamins & minerals are in each one. They are always welcome to help me cook. I love working with and caring for the children!
