"While the state does provide those matching funds for the subsidy, Idaho is one of only four states — including New Hampshire, South Dakota and Wyoming — that does not provide any state funding for pre-K programs."

Time to celebrate!!!💛
$100 million in child care relief just passed the Senate and is headed to the governor for his signature! The legislature listened to all of us & prioritized addressing the child care crisis this week. The passage of House Bills 395, 400, and 369 is a huge win and something each all of us should be proud of. We showed the power of advocacy through strategic, respectful actions. Congratulations everyone!
🥳👏🏻

House Bill 395 passed!!!! We successfully passed all of the child care relief we requested out of the House, entirely thanks to the action everyone took. The bill now goes on to a vote in Senate. Our families got a huge win today! Take comfort in your early childhood programs/schools win today. We moved a mountain! 💙🤟🏻🏔
Now check your district and vote those out in RED 👏🏻

We’re all in this together, it’s time to show how big “our village” (it takes a village) is to our legislators. Idaho AEYC
Dear Families,
At Tatertots Academy our number one mission has always been to CoParent and to always do what is best for our families. We would like for you to help us take action so we can get the necessary funding to persevere during this time. We want to be here always for you and hope at this time of uncertainty you will remain here for us, helping us raise our voice along with other quality Child
Care around us. We’re praised as being essential to the community and we All ( Child Care throughout the state) need these funds to continue to be that. We All are asking all of our families to take a moment to write a quick letter urging Senators Crappo and Risch to pass the “Child Care is Essential Act” and the “Child Care Economic Recovery Act”.
This is the survey results that our Senators read and what drives their vote. We only had 24 centers of over 1000 centers respond. We can not afford to have Idaho representatives vote no due to lack of advocating.
IDAHO
24 individuals responded from child care centers and family child care homes. Of these:
› 36% are in child care programs where they are certain they will close permanently without
additional public assistance.
› 20% of those working in family child care programs remain closed
› While all centers indicate they are open, 91% are serving fewer children now than they were prior to the pandemic. Overall enrollment is down by 52%.
› 77% of programs are paying more for cleaning supplies and 59% are paying more for personal protective equipment.
› Respondents were asked what supports their program received to help it survive. 11 programs said they received the Paycheck Protection Program, including 6 large child care programs and 5 small child care programs; of these, two are family child care homes and 4 are minority-owned businesses.
› 66% of programs have engaged in furlough, pay cuts, or layoffs.
› Assuming they are operating at 80% of capacity or less, 56% of programs responding to the survey expect to close within six months, if they don’t receive additional public support.
So please,
1. Write a letter or go directly to the Senators website and fill out the email form stating that Idaho
child care needs funds provided from the above mentioned acts and demand a yes vote
2. Go to the Idahoaeyc website for email addresses under Advocacy tab
