Your child can read every word on that page and still miss the whole point.

Here's the test a reading specialist uses to check. Have them reread a sentence, then ask what's happening in it. If they can't explain it in simple terms, that's the gap showing up.

One sentence tells you more than an hour of quiet reading time ever will.

New episode is out now: "Your Child Can Read Perfectly and Still Not Understand a Word"

Can your child tell you what they just read? Tell me below πŸ‘‡πŸΎ

By the time the report card comes home, you're already six weeks behind.

This week's reset: sit with your child for 10 minutes while they do schoolwork. Don't help, don't correct, just watch. Are they confident or guessing? Rushing or stuck?

Ten minutes of real observation tells you more than any grade, every time.

Will you try the 10-minute observation this week? Tell me in the comments below πŸ‘‡πŸΎ

You already know when something feels off with your child. The question is whether you check it out or wait for someone else to say it first.

It is easier to trust the good grade, assume they will grow into it, or let "I'll look into it soon" turn into months. But the gap does not close on its own. It just gets harder to see the longer you wait.

Save this one for the next time you catch yourself putting it off. New episode is up, "Is My Child Behind or Is This Normal?" Link in bio, and grab the free guide while you are there.

When was the last time you checked instead of assumed? Tell me below ⬇️

Your child gives you signs every time they read out loud. The question is whether you're catching them.

Mumbling. Guessing at words that look similar. Skipping words. That gap between reading a word and knowing what it means.

These aren't small things. They're the difference between a report card that looks fine and a child who's quietly struggling.

15 years and over 5,000 assessments taught me to catch these. Tonight, I want you to catch them too.

Which of these have you noticed in your child? Tell me below πŸ‘‡πŸΎ

Your child's nervous system has been "on" for seven hours by the time they get home from school. Then we hit them with a list: how was school, do you have homework, wash your hands.

This week's reset: give them 20 minutes of quiet first. No questions, just food, space, and time to land. A regulated kid learns better than an anxious one, every time.

Will you try the 20-minute no-ask zone this week? Tell me in the comments below πŸ‘‡πŸΎ

We do so much for our kids that they're ready to do themselves.

4 age groups, 4 ways to hand independence back, from "let them try" at 3 to "let them launch" at 12+. Swipe through, then check the ratio.

What are you still doing for your child that they could be doing on their own? Tell me below πŸ‘‡πŸΎ

Save this for later and share it with a parent who needs it today.

09/08/2026

By 12, your child should be managing most of life alone. Sleep schedule, homework, laundry, simple meals.

But that independence isn't built at 12. It's built at 3, at 6, at 9.

Feel behind? You're not. You're just starting later, and later beats never.

What's one thing your 12-year-old could be handling that you're still doing for them?

09/06/2026

Most parents ask the wrong question at Back-to-School Night.

You get maybe five minutes alone with your child's teacher. Most of that time goes to homework policy and extra credit. There's one question that tells you everything instead, and it's the one almost nobody asks.

Will you be asking it this year? Comment down below πŸ‘‡πŸΎ

I lost myself when I had my children. It happened so quietly, I didn't notice until years later.

New episode is out, and I'm sharing exactly where I lost myself, and what brought me back.

Who were you before you became a parent? Tell me below. πŸ‘‡πŸΎ

You cannot support a child you're not actually seeing.

Not the discipline system. Not the homework routine. The single most underrated parenting skill is paying attention, watching who your child is actually becoming instead of who you expect them to be.
