The Poetry Foundation announced Tariq Thompson ’21 as one of five 2026 Ruth Lilly and Dorothy Sargent Rosenberg Poetry Fellows.

Among the largest and most prestigious awards offered to young poets in the United States, the Fellowship program recognizes and provides monetary support to five exceptional poets who are between ages 21 and 31 years. Each fellow receives $27,000, a subscription to Poetry magazine, and an invitation to submit work to the venerated publication. Additionally, the Poetry Foundation will sponsor the fellows’ attendance at the 2026 Dodge Poetry Festival, where they will participate in their inaugural reading as a cohort.

Tariq Thompson (he/they) is a poet and an educator from Memphis, Tennessee, and author of the chapbook LONE LILY (Sunset Press, 2021). Their poetry has appeared in the American Poetry Review, The Adroit Journal, Poet Lore, Split Lip Magazine, the Academy of American Poets, and elsewhere. Thompson’s honors include a 2020 Adroit Prize for Poetry. Thompson was an English major at Kenyon and earned an MFA in poetry from New York University, where he was a Writers in the Public Schools Fellow.

A July event in Manhattan capitalized on the fact that more Kenyon alumni live in New York City than any other city (roughly 2,600!). 🗽🚕✨

Students on summer break gathered with alumni and employers for a networking event hosted by Phil Moyles '86, co-President of EPIC Insurance Brokers & Consultants, at the Union League Club.

Alumni representing their companies included B.T. Bowler '90 with Round Rock Advisors, Pia Catton '96, with American Ballet Theatre, Delaney Corrigan '20 with Boston Consulting Group, Paulo Ribeiro '99 with Two Things Inc., Jonathan Sun '16 with Archimedes Management, and Alex Urist '15 with XCharge North America. Representatives from St. Martin's Publishing Group and Cushman & Wakefield commercial real estate also joined.

The roughly 130 attendees heard from President Julie Kornfeld about how the College is actively working to connect more students to experiential learning like internships, through alumni connections and often with donor support.

Wendy Littlepage ’01 is the executive director of the Denver Museum of Miniatures, Dolls and Toys, home to one of the country’s most imaginative collections — more than 20,000 objects, from artisan dollhouses and antique dolls to vintage toys and miniature scenes that span centuries. Under her nearly two decades of leadership, the museum has grown its audience, expanded its programming and secured a permanent home.
