🧠 MBHI June Neuro Notes just dropped.
This month’s issue explores Alzheimer’s disease as a mixed pathology, highlighting how dementia often involves multiple overlapping disease processes rather than a single underlying cause.
Featured topics include Lewy body and TDP-43 co-pathologies, AI-powered diagnostics, blood-based biomarkers, infectious and immune contributors to disease risk, and the evolving therapeutic landscape shaping the future of brain health.

Advancing the Future of Neurotechnology Through Collaboration
The Moody Brain Health Institute was proud to participate in the 2026 InterfaceNeuro Conference at Rice University, bringing together leaders from academia, medicine, industry, and technology to explore the future of neuroscience innovation. Dr. Giulio Taglialatela, Vice President for Brain Health at UTMB and Director of MBHI, joined fellow experts as a featured panelist to discuss emerging opportunities and challenges at the intersection of neuroscience, translational research, and innovation.
Events like InterfaceNeuro highlight the importance of building partnerships across disciplines to accelerate discoveries, translate research into real-world solutions, and improve brain health outcomes for communities worldwide. We are grateful to Rice University and the conference organizers for creating a platform that fosters collaboration, innovation, and meaningful dialogue across the neurotechnology ecosystem.

We’re excited to share that Dr. Anna Fracassi, Ph.D. Presented her seminar:
“The Brain Strikes Back: Exploring Mechanisms of Resilience to Alzheimer’s Disease”
This presentation is part of Dr. Fracassi’s application to become an official faculty member of the Neuroscience Graduate Program, where delivering a public seminar is an important step in the process. Dr. Fracassi’s work at the Mitchell Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases and the Moody Brain Health Institute continues to advance our understanding of brain resilience and Alzheimer’s disease.
This marks a major win for the Alzheimer’s and dementia community—both here in Texas and nationwide! The creation of DPRIT will accelerate groundbreaking research, attract world-class scientists, and generate thousands of jobs across the state.
The Moody Brain Health Institute is proud to support initiatives that bring us closer to a future free from neurodegenerative disease. 🧠✨
