More than 200 scientists, policymakers, advocates and community members attended the Texas Plastic Pollution Symposium at the Aggie Special Event Center.

Are you curious about what it's like to participate in Sea Aggie Sea Turtle Patrol? Sign up for our Turtle Trails program to gain first-hand experience in surveying for sea turtle tracks and excavating eggs from a mock nest!

You'll have the opportunity to embark on a 1-mile patrol walk, learn about our local sea turtle species, their nesting habits, how to identify tracks, the process of excavating eggs from a nest and why it's done, the human impacts on sea turtles, and how the GCSTR conservation programs are protecting these threatened and endangered species. The program takes place every Friday during nesting season, from April to July, at Beach Access 1C in Galveston, TX. Currently, ages 3 and up are welcome, but please be aware everyone is expected to walk a mile.

We kindly encourage a donation of at least $25 to ensure this program continues. This contribution helps support the time and resources our staff dedicate to organizing and facilitating this outreach effort. Your support ensures we can continue our mission towards the conservation of these threatened and endangered sea turtle species.

Vanessa Fernandez-Rodriguez will be presenting "Haplotype diversity in two-year survey of invasive tubeworm Ficopomatus enigmaticus (Annelida: Serpulidae) in Galveston Bay, TX" and Brooke Torjman will be presenting "Differences in salt marsh plant cover do not alter infauna abundance and community composition" at 3:40 pm on Thursday March 19th in OCSB 142.
