A huge thank you to Sarah Moore and Sarah Foreman for visiting our Instructional Practices in Education class! Our students loved learning more about becoming a speech-language pathologist and getting hands-on experience using an AAC device. We are so thankful they shared their time and knowledge with our future educators!

School looked a little different today! 🍎

📚 Our freshman and sophomore Education & Training students stepped back in time at the One Room Schoolhouse in League City and experienced what education was like in the colonial days. Such a fun day of learning outside the classroom!

On September 8, 2026, six Ball High School Culinary Arts students had the opportunity to put their classroom skills into action through a meaningful community-service project at St. Vincent’s House working in the Food Pantry. During the experience, students worked alongside community volunteers to prepare, organize, and load food bags containing meat, vegetables, and other essential food items for members of the Galveston community.

This hands-on experience provided students with an authentic opportunity to practice the culinary and workplace skills they have developed in the classroom, including food safety and sanitation, organization, teamwork, communication, customer service, and professionalism. Students were able to see firsthand how the skills they are learning through Career and Technical Education can be used beyond the classroom to make a positive difference in the lives of others.

More importantly, the experience helped students understand the value of giving back and being active members of their community. Through their time at St. Vincent’s House, students demonstrated that CTE is not only about preparing for a career—it is also about developing responsible, compassionate, and community-minded citizens.

We are proud of these students for representing Ball High School and Galveston ISD Career and Technical Education with enthusiasm, professionalism, and a willingness to serve others. Their commitment to giving back is a wonderful example of Cultivating Tomorrow’s Experts—students who are prepared not only for the workforce, but also to make a meaningful impact in their community.

⚓️ Charting a Course for the Future! 🚢

What an incredible start to the school year for our Maritime, Distribution & Logistics students! 🌊

Students spent two exciting days exploring the world of maritime careers and learning more about the history, economic impact, and future of the Port of Galveston.

One of the biggest highlights was getting an inside look at Cruise Terminals 10 and 25—an experience that gave many students their first opportunity to see the cruise industry up close! 🚢✨

Students also learned about exciting opportunities for internships, job shadowing, mentoring, and future careers right here in their own community.

Experiences like these show students that their classroom learning can lead directly to real-world careers and opportunities. We are excited to continue building strong industry partnerships and creating pathways that prepare our students for success beyond high school!

⚓️ The future is bright—and our students are ready to set sail! 🌊

We proudly celebrated the outstanding accomplishments of our Career and Technical Education students at the GISD CTE Awards Night!

Throughout the 2025–2026 school year, students across multiple CTE pathways earned valuable Industry-Based Certifications that demonstrate real-world skills, technical knowledge, and career readiness. From healthcare and automotive technology to welding, culinary arts, business, education and training, and more — our students continue to excel both inside and outside the classroom.

These certifications represent countless hours of hard work, dedication, hands-on learning, and perseverance. We are incredibly proud of each student for achieving this important milestone and preparing for successful futures in college, careers, and beyond.

A special thank you goes to our amazing CTE teachers, administrators, families, industry partners, and community supporters who continue to invest in and encourage our students every step of the way.

Congratulations to all of our certification recipients, and especially to our graduating seniors as they prepare for the next chapter of their journey!
