Phi Chi, Zeta chapter, was charted on May 3, 1903 by “Daddy” Stalnaker, who recruited 6 other medical students to join him as the first class of this fraternity. Some of the qualities he looked for were: high academic standing, honor and integrity, leadership, cooperation and adaptability.
Today Zeta is the oldest active medical fraternity in Texas. The chapter has influenced 120 generations and counting, amounting to over 1800 alumni, past and present, who have become physicians, impacting countless patient lives. Our motto: “Live to Serve”.
