Next week is National Public Health Week, and the School of Public and Population Health (SPPH) at The University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) is marking it with a full week of activities — panel discussions, a career mixer, a student research symposium with a keynote speaker, and a community service day.
The week kicks off Monday, April 6 with a Community Voices Panel from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. in HEC 1.202. Staff from Access Care of Coastal Texas (ACCT), a Galveston-based nonprofit serving people living with HIV/AIDS, will talk about what it takes to connect individuals with chronic health conditions to the care they need. ACCT provides a range of services including housing assistance, nutrition support, medical transportation, and behavioral health. The panel includes audience Q&A.
