This week’s Student News & Notes is full of ways to connect, celebrate, and get involved at UTMB!

Stop by the Father’s Day Card Pick Up Event June 15–18 on the 2nd floor of the Lee Hage Jamail Student Center to grab a student-designed card while supplies last. Students can also look forward to the FIFA World Cup 2026 Watch Party: The Sequel on Thursday, June 25, with free food and Germany vs. Ecuador on the big screens.

This issue also includes important information for student organization officers about the 2026–2027 transition process, upcoming student organization events focused on health equity and invisible illnesses, and the PTOTS Summer Fundraiser on July 14.

Cheer on Mexico vs. South Africa at the FIFA World Cup Kick-Off Watch Party today from 1:45 PM to 6:00 PM in HEC 1.200. Students can enjoy free food, prizes, and the excitement of the game with Student Life and several UTMB student organizations.

Next week, stop by the Father’s Day Card Pick Up Event from June 15–18, cool off with Snow Cones & Sunshine on Tuesday, June 16, and check out upcoming student organization events focused on health equity, invisible illnesses, and professional development.

Join SNMA and SGA for a Juneteenth BBQ on Thursday, June 4, from 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM at Old Red Plaza and the 1st Floor of the Jamail Student Center. The event will feature free food, line dances, games, local historians, and the NIA Cultural Center.

Later that evening, Professionals Advocating for Cultural Excellence (PACE) will host a screening and discussion of Power to Heal from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM in HEC 3.200.

Looking ahead to June, students can join SNMA and SGA for a Juneteenth BBQ on Thursday, June 4, featuring free food, line dances, games, local historians, and the NIA Cultural Center. Student organizations and the Office of Student Life are also hosting a FIFA World Cup Kick-Off Watch Party on Thursday, June 11, with free food, prizes, and Mexico vs. South Africa on the big screens.
