Ball High Tor Store

A great partnership with such a wonderful organization!! Thanks so much to Zahrah and her amazing crew to allow us to work with them! With her guidance and expertise our students learned so much this year!

Today was the last Monday of the school year with our incredible volunteers from the Ball High School Life Skills Program 💙

Throughout the year, these students came to the Galveston Children's Museum on Mondays to help with deep cleaning, organizing inventory, and supporting the behind-the-scenes work that keeps the museum ready for the children and families we serve.

Over the course of the year, they built skills they can carry with them into future workplaces and opportunities—teamwork, communication, responsibility, organization, and confidence. We are so proud of everything they accomplished.

Creating spaces where young people can grow in confidence, develop meaningful skills, and feel part of their community is an important part of our mission, and we are grateful these students were part of this year’s GCM team.

We wish our graduating students the very best as they begin their next chapter 🎓 And to the students returning in the fall, we can’t wait to welcome you back!

A huge thanks to the Austin Elementary Student Council for delivering Mardi Gras beads to the Ball High Tor Store! Students also enjoyed touring the new campus and having lunch. Thank you to Principal Dr. Ramirez and her amazing staff for all of their support! We are proud of our Austin Elementary students and their generosity.

One of our veteran Tor Store MVP's, Angel, has moved on from Ball High and off to Little Caesars!!! If you are lucky enough to stop in while he is working, like Mr. W did last week, make sure to give Angel a WHOOP WHOOP!!!! We are so proud!

Maricela, Henry, Javon, and Ra'Kayla have spent the last four weeks designing, printing, and attaching this amazing decal on the windows of the Tor Store. Great job team!!!

Congrats to the GISD Special Olympics, for their success at last weekend's track meet! Their performance was outstanding!!

Thank you to the Yaga's Foundation, and a huge shoutout to Mike Dean and Liz Matthews, for allowing us to host the Tor Store balcony party, and purchasing over 80 bags of beads from us. Due to their efforts, we managed to raise an astounding 5,299 dollars! It is with great gratitude that we thank you!

The Ball High Tor Store will be at the Galveston’s Own Farmers Market tomorrow!! Check your attic and your closet for those Mardi Gras beads that have been collecting dust for the last two months and bring them on down!!

Also, we will be sharing a booth with two of our future Tors who will be selling bracelets to raise money for St Vincent’s House!

The cast did an outstanding job, and our students enjoyed the experience. 🎪🤩⭐

A HUGE congratulations to our two Special Olympics basketball teams for bringing home SILVER and GOLD at this weekend’s regional tournament! 🏀🥇🥈
