The application link will be posted at 10:00 AM. Please take a moment to make sure your child(ren) are enrolled for the upcoming school year, as only students who are enrolled will be considered for GISD summer programs.

It has been a while since our last update, and we are excited to reconnect as we begin preparing for summer programs.

Reminder for GISD Families – Camp TKP Summer Program
The Camp TKP Summer Program interest link will be posted soon.
Please remember that students must be registered for the upcoming school year before they are eligible to enroll in Camp TKP. If you have not yet completed your child’s registration for next school year, now is a good time to do so.

Completing registration now will help ensure your child is able to apply once the Camp TKP interest link is released. More information and the interest form link will be shared soon!

📣Come visit the TOR Kids/TOR Prep (TKP) booth at the Back to School Fair on Friday, August 1 at the Central Middle School Gymnasium. We’ll be there to answer your questions about our morning and after school programs, which begin on Monday, August 18.

All families are welcome to stop by and learn more, but we are especially eager to connect with families from Burnet and Austin Elementary. If you have a student at either school, we’d love to share how TOR Kids/TOR Prep (TKP) can support your family this school year. Whether you’re a returning family or new to TKP, we’re here to help you get ready for a great start to the year

This successful summer was truly a team effort, and we want to give a heartfelt THANK YOU to the many hands that made the magic happen:

Our incredible GISD staff, including awesome site coordinators, teachers, paraprofessionals, and lifeguards.
🏫 Delton Kelly, our fabulous Maintenance Director, and his team for keeping our buildings, grounds, generators, and even water hoses working so campers could enjoy every part of camp — inside and out.
🚌 Mike Praker, Assistant Director of Transportation, and his staff for safely getting campers to and from camp each day.
📦 Robert Simpson and his all-star team for delivering our supplies quickly, efficiently, and always on time.
🍎 Jennifer Douglas, Child Nutrition Director, and her amazing crew for making sure campers had nutritious meals and snacks every single day.
📸 the wonderful Mallory Harper, our District Photographer, for capturing the joy, the laughter, and those unforgettable camp moments.
And we would be remiss not to recognize the generous support of the Moody Foundation, who makes our before-school, after-school, and summer camps possible each and every year. We are beyond grateful. 💙

It’s been fun, it’s been meaningful, and we hope your child not only learned something new - but felt the love all summer long.

Dear Parents,
Your kids are coming home today exhausted, soaked, and thrilled.
There was a waterslide. There were bubbles. There was Zumba and so much more! They may need a nap before bedtime (you’re welcome). 😎
Huge thanks to our amazing staff, site coordinators, and the incredible Ball High School student volunteers - we couldn’t have pulled off this joyful chaos without you!

Attention Camp TKP Families!

We’re excited to announce that applications for the TOR Kids (TKP) Morning and Afterschool Programs for the upcoming school year are anticipated to open online this Monday!

Enrollment will be available for students in PK4 through 8th grade — including 3rd and 4th grades!

We can’t wait for another great year of fun, learning, and support!

In Ms. Obregon’s class, our campers got creative and reflective by making their very own Calm Down Bottles!

When the bottles are shaken, the glitter swirls all around — just like our emotions sometimes do. As campers watch the glitter slowly settle, they practice deep breathing and learn that just like the glitter, our feelings can calm down too.

What a beautiful and meaningful activity — we could all use one of these!

⚡ We had a power-packed visit from the amazing Power TOR Club - a group of high school students from our very own Ball High School!

Joined by their unforgettable puppet pals - Eco-Tortle, Vampower, SeaGale, and Jumpy Watt - they taught our campers all about how to conserve energy at school and at home!

Campers got hands-on by creating their very own Energy Conservation Fortune Teller game to take home and share with family and friends. Then they rotated through fun, interactive activities like:
🔌 Phantom Power Freeze Tag
💡 Flip the Switch Relay
👀 Watt Watchers, where they identified common energy wasters

To top it all off, the campers were treated to a fun and educational puppet show starring the Power TOR Pals!

A huge THANK YOU to the Power TOR Club for inspiring the next generation of energy savers!
