Check-in will be from 3:30–4:30 PM, there’s no entry fee, and don’t forget to bring your health papers.

The strength of the Black Hawk East Livestock Judging program extends far beyond the classroom and contests because of the incredible support of our alumni. Their willingness to give back through their time, mentorship, and generosity helps provide opportunities for our current students while preserving the tradition and excellence that defines our program. We are proud of the legacy our alumni continue to build and grateful to have such a strong network supporting the next generation of Black Hawk East livestock judges.

🏆 2026 Outstanding Ag Alumni Award Recipient Announced! 🏆

The Black Hawk College Agribusiness Club Alumni Association is proud to announce Dr. Dan Shike as the recipient of the 2026 Outstanding Ag Alumni Award!

A graduate of Black Hawk College East Campus and now the Head of the Department of Animal Sciences at the University of Illinois, Dr. Shike is nationally recognized for his leadership in beef cattle nutrition, education, and research. Throughout his career, he has remained deeply committed to Black Hawk College by mentoring students, supporting alumni initiatives, and giving back to the agriculture program that helped launch his career.

Dr. Shike's passion for agriculture and dedication to developing future leaders have earned him the respect of producers, students, and colleagues across the country. His selection reflects not only his professional accomplishments but also his continued commitment to Black Hawk College and the agricultural community.

Please join us as we honor Dr. Shike and celebrate another outstanding year for our alumni at the Black Hawk College Agribusiness Club Alumni Banquet on Friday, August 22, at Midland Golf Club in Kewanee. The evening will feature fellowship, recognition of our award recipients, dinner, raffles, and support for scholarships and student opportunities at Black Hawk College East Campus.

That’s a wrap on BHE Judging Camp 2026! 🖤💛

A huge thank you to all the students, parents, coaches, and volunteers who made this year’s camp a success. We were excited to welcome a record number of campers and had an incredible three days of learning, competition, and fun.

Thank you for being part of it, and we’ll see you next year!

As graduation quickly approaches we wanted to recognize an amazing sophomore team one more time.

This group has left their mark on the Black Hawk East Livestock Judging program in a big way. From countless miles traveled, long practice nights, early mornings, and the dedication they showed every single day, this team proved what hard work can accomplish.

This year alone they produced two Academic All-Americans, had the High Individual at three major contests, and earned Team of the Year honors. But beyond the banners and awards, we’re most proud of the people they have become throughout the journey.

Thank you sophomores for everything you poured into this program, your teammates, and the traditions of BHE judging. We can’t wait to see what’s next for each of you.
