Lorraine Kay Anderson, 85, of Cambridge, Ill., passed away on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at the Hillcrest Home in rural Geneseo, Ill.

Lorraine was born on August 28, 1940, in Collinson Maternity Home in Galva, Ill., the daughter of George Marcus and Nellie (Blust) Dowell. She graduated Galva High School in 1958. She married Larry R. Anderson on January 24, 1959, in Galva, Ill.

Surviving is husband, Larry R Anderson, Cambridge; children, Lorry Kay (Jerry) Shawgo, Orion, Larry (Kandra) Anderson, Geneseo; grandchildren, Ashton (Jarret) Schmoll, Aleesha K. Shawgo, Maddux Anderson, Diavi McDuffy, Lakota Frank, and Sienna Frank; great-grandchildren, Liam, Evelyn, Bain, Mila, and Claire; brothers-in-law, Lloyd Anderson and Lanny (Carolyn) Anderson; and many nephews, nieces, great-nephews, and great-nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Donald and Billy Dowel; sister, Helen Ketchem; her parents-in-law, Earl and Lucille Anderson; step-grandson, Julian Pearson; sister-in-law, Donna Anderson; and five nephews.

Lorraine worked at Galva Farm Equipment, the Henry County Circuit Clerk's Office, and then for 32 years in the Henry County States Attorney's Office until retiring in 2003.

She was a former member of the Cambridge Jaycettes, and the Cambridge Lutheran Church, where she had taught Sunday school, and is a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Orion. Lorraine had been a Girl Scout Leader and Den Mother for several years.

Lorraine loved bowling and bowled in Galva, Cambridge, and Orion for many years. She enjoyed following sporting and other events for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Not only was she a fan of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she was known by all teammates and their families. She was affectionately known as Grandma to all that experienced her presence in the stands. She often was known as the person/grandma that had snacks. She cherished and loved all of these moments. She loved all who she watched, they were all her "grandkids".

A funeral service will be held at 12 p.m., on Saturday, November 8th, at the Stackhouse-Moore Funeral & Cremation Services, Cambridge. Rev. Randy Swanson will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery in Cambridge, Ill. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., on Saturday, November 8th, at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Lorraine K. Anderson Memorial Fund.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the Summit of Bettendorf and Hillcrest Home for their care in Lorraine's time of need.

BISHOP HILL – Robert L. Nordstrom, 85, of Bishop Hill, died Tuesday, September 30, 2025 in rural Altona.

A visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Monday October 6, 2025 at Rux Funeral Home in Galva. Military rites will be accorded by the Galva Fusiliers at 4:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the Bishop Hill Old Settlers Association or the American Cancer Society.
BISHOP HILL – Robert L. Nordstrom, 85, of Bishop Hill, died Tuesday, September 30, 2025 in rural Altona.

He was born on February 11, 1940 in Kewanee, the son of Vernon and Gladys (Sholeen) Nordstrom. He married Lauretta L. Leff on April 21, 1963 in Bishop Hill. She preceded him in death on January 29, 2020. He was also preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by a son, Larry (Terri) Nordstrom of Galva, a daughter, Susan (Shane) Williams of Atkinson, five grandchildren; Lauren, Matthew and Allison Nordstrom and Savana and Emma Weimer and a sister, Shirley (Bob) Callis of Colorado.

Robert graduated from Galva High School in 1958. He then served in the Illinois National Guard. He was a mechanic for Illinois Power and in earlier years, he had worked at Lord Chevrolet in Galva and as an independent mechanic. He had also farmed in the Bishop Hill area. He enjoyed working on the farm, guns and John Deere tractors. He was always the first to help anyone and the last to ask for help.

- age 84, passed away to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Saturday February 22, 2025. Roberta's journey came to a peaceful end surrounded by her sons. Roberta was born on September 19, 1940, in Burns Twp. Illinois, the daughter of Lloyd and Emily (Shimmin) Robson. She was a 1958 graduate of Galva High School. She spent her youth in and was raised on the family farm in Burns Twp. IL. She married Ronald O'Hara in 1961., who preceded her in death December 31, 2014. She moved to Michigan in 1971 and resided in Fenton for 53 years. Roberta and Ron started NuWeigh a local industrial scale company, in 1982 which Roberta worked for throughout her life while managing a parcel of the family farm. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Fenton, Henry County IL. Farm Bureau. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, March 29, 2025, at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton (The service will be live streamed and can be viewed via Roberta's obituary page at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com). Pastor Robbie Carnes officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Saturday, March 29, 2025, from 11:00 AM until the time of the service. Interment will take place at a later date in Pleasant View Cemetery, Kewanee, IL. She was blessed with two sons. Surviving are her children David (Karen) O'Hara of Williamsburg, MI and Timothy (Francette) O'Hara of Macomb, MI. Four grandchildren, Max O'Hara, Olivia O'Hara, Austin O'Hara, Jackson O'Hara. She also leaves behind niece Anne Hathaway, Indianapolis, IN and nephew John (Angela) Hathaway, Galva IL. She was also preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Mary Hathaway and Doris Friend. GALVA - Leo A. Collinson, 85, of Galva, died at 8:25 p.m., Monday, January 27, 2025 at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.

He was born November 20, 1939 in Galva, the son of Joseph and Doris (Smith) Collinson. He married Alice Yelm on November 27, 1963 in Galesburg and she preceded him in death on July 26, 1997. He later married Virginia A. Anderson on April 10, 2008 on a boat on the Peace River in Punta Gorda, FL. Survivors include his wife of Galva, two sons, Larry (Patty) Collinson of Galva and Mark (Kendra) Stambaugh of Wichita, KS, three daughters; Marsha Sterns of Springfield, OH and Dawn Scott and Tracy (Bob) Raley, both of Galva, seven grandchildren; Cody Collinson, Craig (Kelly) Collinson, Joe (Amanda) DeWitt, Sadie DeWitt and her fiancé Nik Lopatin, Haley Chavis, Gavin Raley and Madison Cotton and great grandchildren, Olivia Collinson and one Collinson on the way, Ethan Walden, Ryan Bond and Leo Raley. He was also preceded in death by his parents, his twin sister, Leota and three brothers, Lyle, Harold and Gordon.

Leo graduated from Galva High School in 1958 and he served the US Army in Korea. He worked as a machine operator for Navistar and Farmall until his retirement. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Galva, the Galva American Legion Hagberg-Hamlin Post 45, a 60+ year member of the Odd Fellows, a member of Hook & Bullet Conservation Club and had been a precinct committeeman. Leo had the privilege of attending the Honor Flight of the Quad Cities and was active with the Galva Food Pantry. He was a Cub Scout Master and assistant scout master from 1957-60 and had helped with the local Boy Scout Troop 143. He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying camping, hunting and fishing. Leo was a “jack of all trades” who enjoyed ice cream when he wasn’t supposed to and had a strong dislike for raccoons.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 8 at Rux Funeral Home in Galva with Deacon Michael Crummer officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Friday, February 7 at the funeral home. Inurnment will be in Galva where military rites will be accorded by the Galva Fusiliers. Memorials may be directed to Boy Scout Troop 143 or to the First Baptist Church in Galva.
