Many people have been asking how they can get more involved in our schools.
If that's you, stop by the MCFUSE booth at Walk with a Doc this Saturday! We'd love to meet parents, educators, and community members, answer your questions, and share ways you can get involved, have your voice heard, and help shape the future of our schools.
We hope to see you there!

Here is the current draft calendar for the upcoming school year. Please note that this is still a draft and is subject to change. Your union continues to advocate for a shorter school calendar. While we've worked to reach an agreement, the district has maintained its position on the current calendar. As a result, this issue will be decided through arbitration. We remain committed to advocating for a calendar that reflects the priorities of our members and will continue to share updates as they become available.

Message from MCFUSE President Graham McNeill:
Thank you to everyone who attended last night's School Board meeting. A special thank you to those who were willing to make public comment. Speaking up takes courage, and we appreciate everyone who chose to share their experiences and concerns.
We were proud to have 6 MCFUSE members and 1 retired GMCS teacher speak during public comment. Together, they brought attention to important issues affecting our staff, including respect for employee pay and working conditions, concerns about retaliation when employees exercise their rights, and the need for greater input from the educators and staff who work directly with our students every day.
We hope our collective efforts encourage the School Board to provide more opportunities for open dialogue, allow broader public comment, and create more space for staff and community members to ask questions, share concerns, and have their voices heard.
Thank you again to everyone who attended, spoke, and showed support. Your voice matters, and together we can continue advocating for positive change within GMCS.
π₯ Board Meeting Recording: Public comment begins around the 32-minute mark and continues through approximately the 54-minute mark.
