The Stockton Center on Successful Aging at Stockton University

The Stockton Center on Successful Aging promotes education, research, and services to respond to local, regional, and statewide needs related to population aging. The Center’s core mission is to encourage older residents to “age successfully” through vital involvements and engagement in their community.

October SILL programs start this week!

🕵️ Classic Detective Fiction
🗓️Thursdays, October 1, 8, 15 & 22

Detective mysteries are thriving in the 21st century, both in print and on screen. But where and how did this exciting genre begin? In this course we’ll trace detective fiction back to its classic origins, learning to recognize its foundational tropes while we read and discuss Arthur Conan Doyle’s landmark detective novel The Hound of the Baskervilles (featuring the iconic Sherlock Holmes!). Our discussions will be enriched by short lectures on the cultural contexts in which detective fiction emerged. This course will be followed up by Golden Age Detective Fiction in Spring 2027.

This course is offered in two informative and entertaining sessions by Barberio Financial Services. Participants will receive a workbook to start their own financial planning journey.
