We are thrilled to present this semester's Lives Well Lived program, a collaborative service-learning project hosted by SCOSA. This unique program brought together college students and community elders for shared lessons, activities, and thoughtful discussions about health, aging, and what it means to live a meaningful life.
The foundation of this program was inspired by Sky Bergman's PBS documentary, Lives Well Lived. The stories of the community elders were filled with humor, wisdom, and resilience, and shared valuable insights on how to live a fulfilling life, particularly in later years.
Throughout this semester, we've built upon those lessons, diving deeper into what it means to live a well-lived life. Our older adult community members joined students for five interactive sessions focused on health topics such as heart health, fitness and osteoporosis, and nutrition. The associated hands-on activities provided us with an opportunity to learn from each other, engage in meaningful conversations, and reflect on the connection between health and well-being.
Thank you to all that participated for being part of this intergenerational journey!
